Ryan reflected : "Here are a couple of TB seals from South America. I see the LAC seals from Colombia every now and then, but Peruvian seals are something I don't see nearly as often."
In all my years of collecting, it appears I have never had a Cinderella or a TB seal of Peru, I cannot find a single fellow in my archives. Amazing.

Rod, You seem to be right, in that cinderellas from Peru are scarce. I could find only one in my collection and it happens to be a TB stamp. You can now say you've seen one Also shown below is a page of some other misc B.O.B followed by page number 7 of my collection that I just now updated to show the inverted overprints I have of the 1907 issue. Most of the stamps of Peru can be seen HERE

In all my years of collecting, it appears I have never had a Cinderella or a TB seal of Peru, I cannot find a single fellow in my archives. Amazing. I used to have a Peruvian stamp in my cinderella envelope, but then I searched with a bit more diligence and I found a listing for it lurking in the postal tax section of the Scott catalogue! The rouletting threw me off, I had just made an assumption that it was a label rather than a stamp. Ryan

Lovely Perustamps from Ryan and Mitchell, mounting a few of my own this week, and you guys put me to shame, mine are rather grubby and well used, but we still love 'em.

I don't have much in the way of thrilling stamps from Peru so here are some llamas. My parents have a few llamas on their acreage - they can handle our cold & dry climate well, they do have a paddock they can go inside when it's extremely cold but for the most part they just roam the land and graze. There is a selenium deficiency in their diet when they eat our grasses so they get enriched grain pellets to fix that. One of my Japanese friends came to visit one year so I took him out to the acreage to meet the beasts. They advanced faster than he could retreat. LLAMA TROOP ADVANCE! ha ha Ryan

Nice photo Ryan. That little brown one looks almost Alpaca sized. What do your parents do with them? Do they shear them for their wool? I'm spinning up some Alpaca fiber right now and it can be tricky. Although the fiber is extremely fine and soft, it is difficult to hand spin it into a soft yarn. I've never spun llama fiber, but I do have some around here somewhere.
I have fiber like I have stamps...a bunch just sitting around here waiting for me to do something with.

Love those Llamas and Alpacas !
In Australia we employ these very intelligent animals as guards for our sheep during lambing etc, Although gregarious, they have a high hatred of canines and foxes.
Alpaca troops advance! indeed.

Thanks Alan, Alas, I am working from 2009 as well I was hoping someone may have a later edition, stating "printers waste" etc. I'll kick tyres on the internet.

On my way to bed, so not on here long tonight, but the Scott 2014 doesn't make any mention of anything out of the ordinary.
It's not used, is it? (It doesn't look it from the scan.) If it were, then perhaps some of the colors are fugitive in water?
Otherwise, I agree that perhaps a specialist society or a specialist dealer (esp. in Peru) might know something.

Not used Dave, no gum, not sure if it has been washed. Probably printer's waste placed on the market. Imperf examples exist.

That little brown one looks almost Alpaca sized. What do your parents do with them? They're all llamas - the little one is just a juvenile in that photo. He's now the biggest of the bunch. He was pretty funny when he was young, he'd stick his neck down low and would race around the ground at full throttle. Racing llama! They don't do anything with them other than take advantage of the tax reduction, I think. Grazing land has a vastly lower tax rate than residential land, something like only 2% as much, so the llama half is almost like free land. The land was already set up for horses, so the paddock was there, all the fencing was there, the heated stock watering tank was there, etc. You can shear the wool and do stuff with it but they've never been sheared. They have big dreadlocks hanging from their bellies. ha ha Ryan

In all my years of collecting, it appears I have never had a Cinderella or a TB seal of Peru, I cannot find a single fellow in my archives. Amazing. Here are a pair of stamp-seals from 1961 & 1965. For one day each, they were valid as postage stamps. For a period after that, they were voluntary seals to benefit a fund for postal employees. And I don't know how to define this one. It's an overprinted stamp similar to some postal tax issues, but according to the Scott catalogue in a listing after RA57, it was not a compulsory postal tax stamp. Ryan

Here is a nice Lima cancel... if the cancel was centered a little higher, and the stamp was centered a little lower, then I'd really have something.

Nice llamas. Have you been spit on yet? On my wife's cousin's ranch I tried to pet one and it spit. Yuck!! They spit on each other all the time but they've never aimed at us. But one of them always tries to boss me around, she sees me from clear across the pasture and her ears go back, her nose goes up and she starts acting like she's going to spit. Silly camels anyway.... Ryan

This came in the mail today. I am moving on to classic Peru after spending time with Ecuador and a little bit with Chile again. This was an eBay purchase from a seller in Mexico. I made an offer and got the two lots for $18.00. It arrived in a timely fashion...just before Thanksgiving holiday when I will have time to go through it, sort, catalog and even start mounting on the classic Peru pages I recently printed. I am hoping to add some more to this skimpy area of our page as well.
