The problem is not only with Mi.2112 (EXPO 2000) and Mi.2114 (Europa), but also with Mi.2204-5 (Gorilla/Rhinoceros),issued July 12th,2001.
In a dealers-offer I found the same footnote also for Mi.2303,2304 (0.45 € & 0.55 € definitives),issued Dec.27th,2002. However in the latest Michel Kompakt 2022 (what I got in the library, but do not own) there is no footnote for these. As I collect BRD (GFR) used,I am not fully informed about that matter.

Thank you salentin for mentioning the other stamps with this gum deficiency. I will be careful when I buy them. I'm sorry about the MH 40 booklet. I hope I can clean the stamps.

For the first time I encountered this phenomenon of stamps becoming brown due to gum. And it is logical that for the first time I tried to clean some stamps. I sprayed the solution on the back of the stamp and after 30 seconds I gently wiped it with a paper napkin. I repeated the operation one more time to remove the remaining gum and put the stamp in water at room temperature. The solution ( neutral PH - I think the name is "limonen") was very effective in quickly dissolving hardened and brown gum and what is more important - it did not affect the printed colors. Below is an image with part of the stamp: before and after cleaning. I hope to get the same result with the remaining 9 stamps from the booklet.

So, for those than don't know, there is an interesting topic collection field: Europa Stamps Every year, a theme is picked at the European nations that participate, create stamps based on that theme. Here is the Wikipedia article on Europa stamps: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europa_postage_stampAnd an excellent blog detailing a lot of Europa stamps with nice high res images: europa-stamps.blogspot.com/I think the Europa stamps have upped their game. The earlier Europa stamps were not anything special to look at. Now the more modern Europa stamps are colorful and show some interesting topics. I also notice that some countries put out a Europa stamp, but they are not part of a central theme. Not sure why that is but I have noticed this in my Italian and Vatican collections. Nick
