Dealers are the best way to get stamps but what do you like in a dealer? I like dealers who are friendly, willing to help customers and fill out want lists. A good shop should have boxes of material and a dealer should be trying to focus on a quick profit rather than maximising the profit. Bonuses always make people happy. A dealer's shop should have stamps in stock cards that catalogue over $10 for 30% to 50% of catalogue. He should also have many albums and lots available cheap to expensive. In a shop a dealer should be friendly but still allow people to be browsed without getting yapped at the whole time. Internet dealers should keep the customer updated and knowing when things are shipped. That is what I think a good dealer should be like. Now everyone else can put what they like in a dealer.

I haven't seen a brick and mortar shop in years. My go to guy retired and sold his inventory.I'm not even sure where another may be.I found a reasonably close place that handles mounts but not much else.If I would have to guess the closest actual shop would be 100 miles away. The online sources are weakening in past years.I tried doing business with a mail order house located forty miles away but the owner had the personality of a farm animal.I would send little bonuses with my order and a scan of a better page of my collection more to show him what he was dealing with than anything else.I also enclosed a personal note hand written ...response?? order form and account payable slip.when I first started on line there were many many sellers of nice stuff. Now look at listings and you'll find you skip more than you ever look at.i agree communication is very important many times I receive an item before it was ever marked shipped.A couple sellers (repeat business) ship items before payment has cleared,so there are still a few GOOD sellers out there. In past year three items have disappeared before reaching me.not sure what's going on there ,at least one I have feeling was a scam as it was lost in transit before it was shipped.
