What I collect: Cinderellas and some Ephemera from Great Britain, France and Israel plus a few beautiful bits from elsewhere !! Topical interests include Flags & Judaica, the latter with an emphasis on the Jewish National Fund.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MinutemenWikpedia can explain it better than I, a mere beginner in US history !! The Concord Minute Man appears to have been depicted on many labels and stamps and I am beginning to find the topic rather interesting. So let's try to find as many as we can from the Cinderella side. Postage stamps should be posted in their respective topical arena ! I'll start off with a few I had scanned for other places before the topical idea came about. Very impressive figure. I hope to visit Concord one day and pay my respects ! Here he is on one of the 'This is America' series. More about these elsewhere another day, but a lovely series. 150th Anniversary label, 1925. Often depicted on Savings stamps and Bonds labels. Here is one in Gold and White with a high gloss finish. Very patriotic !! More shortly........

Cor, that was a short short !! 200th Anniversary Others: I have a savings book for the latter but not yet scanned. If anyone has any other Cinderella material for the topic or has any information about any of the labels posted thus far, please post here. Many thanks Londonbus1

Excellent thread idea. First here are some scans from my Defense Stamp Album. The back cover, with our MinuteMan and the opening pages. My album contains quite a few of the 10¢ War Savings Stamp you showed above and also the 1941 Postal Savings and the 25¢ 1942 War Savings.

and closeups of the previously posted Minutemen labels. That last one, though it's a Red Cross label, has a little Minuteman at the bottom. Almost overlooked him.

Yesterday I posted a series on the American Oil Co. topical thread a set of US presidents. I mentioned that I'd also acquired another set published by American Oil of US historical events and sites. I'll post the set there later, but while sorting them onto Vario pages tonight, I came across this fellow, and knew he belonged here. The Minute Man Statue in Concord Mass.

Oh, Mr. Bus? I just noticed this very subtle element on this Artists for Victory label. Check the strip of 'bullet's going into the gun. Thought it a good excuse to try and revive this one.

Nice slant on the Minute Man Topical !
"War Bonds and Stamps supply the Bullets" !
Or.......to get your latest Coil variety, head off to the Front Line !
Does that mean us collectors are responsible for death and mayhem ? Ouch !
