There's a thread for hotels. Hows about a thread for general tourism labels. I'll start with this batch.

One can learn all about Robert Burns when they travel the low roads of Scotland to these attractions.
Nice series, have no idea if there are others, still searching.

The labels in the previous post come in a rouletted sheet with plain borders. They were produced by the Scottish Postal service [SPS inscribed on each label] but I have not managed to find out anything about them thus far.

This may help fill in some detail (3 sheets; produced in 1974) -- it is taken from the G. Ross Roy Collection of Robert Burns: An Illustrated Catalog, page 377 on Google Books.

I'll put these here until I find out they have nothing to do with tourists ! A nice large sheet of 'SAHARA' labels which I hadn't seen before. I had also forgotten all about them until I found them trying to hide from me earlier today ! They had no reason to, they are quite attractive. The sheet is large so they did not fit on the scanner bed. Two halves then........SAHARA ESPANOLA !! Very colourful and vibrant at the very least.

Printed in Barcelona,as the "B" after "Deposito legal" indicates, On 1973. The Spanish Sàhara was ceded to Morrocco and Mauritània on the fall on 1975. The real reason is still unclear.

cursus.....Thank you. I hadn't thought of them being printed in Barcelona. So are they then some kind of propaganda labels ?

If you were a Catalan boy "on military age" (17-22) who was caught by Franco's police on an anti-dictatorship rally on late 60s or early 70s, you were very likely end doing your military service on the Spanish Sahara. It was, both a punishment and a warning for others. These labels were suposed to be affixed on letters or postcards, sent by soldiers to home on the late years of the colony, trying to give a more friendly image of the place. I've seen them for sale on Barcelona's stamp market.

Here are 6 from Canada for travelling the world on Canadian Pacific, which could have been by train, plane or ship back in the day.
(I can't for the life of me remember who I received them from.)

Here are some more Scottish Philatelic Secretariat stamps for Glasgow's 800th Anniversary in 1975, various scientific anniversaries in 1976 (I'm assuming that the information in the margin is incorrect and it is his death anniversary being marked rather than his birth year): Scan_20200521 (6) by Daniel, on Flickr The Tam O'Shanter is a famous poem by Robert Burns. The building shown is now a museum/pub. With various other Scottish labels including Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Scan_20200523 by Daniel, on Flickr

This may help fill in some detail (3 sheets; produced in 1974) -- it is taken from the G. Ross Roy Collection of Robert Burns: An Illustrated Catalog, page 377 on Google Books. That reference is erroneous. It is now known that SPS stands for the Scottish Philatelic Secretariat, the philatelic offshoot of the Scottish Secretariat which was formed by Roland Eugene Muirhead. He was the first chairman of the National Party of Scotland which merged with the Scottish Party to become the SNP. Muirhead was president of the SNP from 1936 to 1950 when he formed a group called the Scottish National Congress. However, dual party membership was not allowed under new SNP rules so Moorhead left the SNP and formed the Scottish Secretariat. A letter from the Scottish Secretariat sent to Stamp Magazine dated 22nd November 1957 was recently sold on eBay. The letter contained their first two stamps, both depicting Robert Burns, the Twa Plack and the other with Burns and the Scottish flag. Other Scottish stamps were produced by the SNP, the Scottish Patriots, the Burns Federation and Peter Westwood.

Here 's a nice Tourist stamp from Egypt. If this doesn't want to make you visit, then nothing will !! I've been fortunate enough to have been to the Pyramids on a few occasions, the first will always remain uppermost in my mind as we took a small camel train from Giza to the oldest Pyramid in Sakkara. It took about 5 hours and was totally amazing as were the Pyramids of Giza (shown below). But don't take my word for it, get yourselves off to Egypt.......for more than just winter sunshine !!!

makes me think of Hercule Poirot, art deco and affluence, and assume this one dates to some considerable period before 2023. Sorry, I refuse to fly and heat and flies also not my cup of tea, but I know the loss is mine, considerably - the Valley of the Kings etc. - mesmerizing, and I'm a great fan of nostalgia and the past history of Carter's work. Coincidentally, my Egypt stamps collection is possibly more complete than most other countries. Had assumed this was a cinderella, though you say 'stamp' ?

It is a “stamp”, just not a “postage stamp”.
