Generally, I'm pretty much a scoffer about price guides and catalog values. So, I don't work with them at all, except for stamp identification. Scott catalogs work fine for that. For a discussion of the various ways to attach a value to a collection, type the words -- collection worth -- in the search box at the to of the "recent posts" menu.

Very generally Ebay prices realized are the current market guide for prices. It's probably the most current price available "catalog" ,again that is very general.

What guide is most used for the pricing of a collection? and a link, if possible LOL When buying, I adopt a ball park figure of 1/4 of Scott Catalogue value, That's what I aim to pay, then adjust either way for quality / rarity of stock / quantity. I very rarely buy a singleton stamp, with shipping makes generally a vastly overpriced item, so I exercise patience. This is your Swiss Army Knife of basic Stamp behaviour...... www.inheritedstampcollection.com/chapter_01.htm
