For those without access to the study paper, there is a short article by Jakes on pages 22-25 of this issue of the British West Indies Study Circle Bulletin (No. 176, March 1998).

Yowza! Yep, you are a legend Steve I was curious about the "one fraction" now all revealed. Serendipity chimes in, I just bought a glassine of Trinidad Postage Dues for $1, awaiting them to arrive these are discussed in that paper.

These bottle stamps look 'addictive', LOL. One might actually start collecting these alone.... The Stamps only scb Otherwise there is only 1 bottle. It has a characteristic oversized bottle label. The person ordering the bottles originally, and the printer did not liase, hence they did not match, but they persevered with the boo boo, and kept is as a curiosity. The exact formula is a closely guarded secret, with only five people knowing the whole recipe. Angostura bitters are extremely concentrated and are an acquired taste; though 44.7% alcohol by volume, bitters are not normally ingested undiluted, but instead are used in small amounts as flavouring. I do not drink alcohol, so when in a pub, I drink "Lemon Lime and Bitters" it is the most beautiful, thirst quenching drink. Common in Australia and New Zealand

Looks like it says "CANCELLED" to me. Used in a revenue kind of way. Just my guess anyway...

I’ve found another interesting issue -- a 4p Trinidad Postage Due. Normally this might be a Sc. J5 with a #2 Crown and CA watermark or a Sc. J13 with a #3 Multiple Crown and CA wmk, but this was printed on paper with a #4 Multiple Crown and script CA wmk! It isn’t in Scott, or on Colnect. The West Indies Philatelic Study Group BWISC Bulletin No. 269 – June 2021 talks about a forged ½d printed on a bleached stamp having a pale ghost of Britannia visible, but that stamp used wmk #3. A cursory examination of the patient didn't identify any of the flaws obvious in the ½d forgery. Has anyone heard of this variant? rod222 , @beryllium Guy

Here is the only dues info I have, apart from Scott or Gibbons

Thank you jaysee. I was looking at Trinidad only and didn't think of looking at TT. Obviously not my part of my experience base and I was thrown off by the Trinidad only on the issue.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Another arrival is this 1859 Trinidad Scott 16. I have very few of the imperf stamps of this country at this time. It has four good margins and a nice grid cancel. On another site someone questioned if this could be a pin perf stamp that was neatly trimmed because the green is not dark enough. I think that has more to do with my scanner. The borders look to large to have been trimmed.

I was doing some work in the British America album this evening and stopped to look at this Trinidad and Tobago Britannia and King George V set. The only disappointing stamp is the hard to find 1 pound. It appears to be a revenue use perfin. I have searched on line and had no success finding information on perfins for these islands. Is this the £1 which I think is sg229 marbles I do not use Stanley Gibbons but I was able to search on line and yes it is SG229. Your set of these is nice.

I have been picking through envelopes that I thought were just duplicates for the collection I was going through. Much to my surprise many stamps were ones the previous owner had not got around to mounting. There has been nothing too special but many newer holes filled. The Trinidad envelope had this Union Postal International Reply Coupon dated 14 DE 1971. They are not something I seek out but always nice when one pops up.
