This sort of thing only happens once in the preverbal blue moon! Wait...let me look outside. Tonight at my stamp club meeting, a gentleman comes up to me and asks if I collect revenue stamps. 'Some' was my reply. He proceeded to present two pages, one Canada, one US, of back of book material. I hadn't expected to buy anything tonight, but these I could NOT let go. There was stuff in here I'd only seen pictures of on the interweb. Here is the US page (certainly the more interesting of the two collections). Over the next little while I'll pick out pieces to scan and show. All I can say is, don't hate me because I'm beautiful!
Wine, beer, cigarettes, tobacco, playing cards, bedding, margarine, officials, postal notes, battleships, documentary and a couple of foreign pieces as well. **sigh**

A thing of beauty, James. I guess we shan't see you around here for a while, whilst you sort.

Here's a couple to wet yer whistles while I toddle off to bed. From the US batch, NRA (National Recovery Act) cigar stamp.
and from the Canadian pile, a Newfoundland Military Canteen cigarette stamp. This one almost had our club secretary wet himself. He's retired Canadian Forces.

Those playing card stamps show up in the Precancel Stamp Society's catalogue for Bureau precancels, of all places ....

**Yawn** Good to see these in the light of day. Sadly the Canadian page is not so grand a pile than those above. I'll be scanning and posting some separate items on specific threads, rather than burying them in there. That way they will be easily accessible to anyone interested.

Very nice! If I collected BoB beyond the Air Mails and Ducks, I'd be jelly.

Nice little green men, zipper! And thanks for reminding me of this thread. Never did follow up, did I? We get so excited when we acquire these things, then they're put in their little books and forgotten. How sad! I don't have nearly as many of those as you, but I'll see yours anyway, and raise a few red ones (and some others). Here are some stock transfer stamps, as you've shown, plus documentary and proprietary stamps as well.
The 'battleship' stamps actually show the 'Maine' which was sunk in Havana harbour.

And some more, mostly from that glorious day. New York Stock Transfers
And our old frenemy, tobacco - state and federal.
