I must be going crazy, I know I've posted this before, but can't find the thread. But I have a question, so I'll post again. I have this album of QEII coronation stamps which I picked up last spring at an estate auction. My thought was to turn it around, but I kinda like it, so I'm going to hang on to it for now. I see several on ebay, with both red and blue covers, at widely ranging prices (none of them seem to be selling). [BROKEN IMAGE LINK(S) REMOVED] It's in pristine condition (well ok, maybe not pristine, but very very good). And there are blank pages at the to add material. I have a FDC of the Bermuda issue (received it from our friend ILS, I believe) and I just had the thought to put the cover in the back of this album. But here's the quandary of the collector. Do I keep the album in it's original condition, figuring that is always the best for resale value OR do I personalize it and add the cover to the collection, which is what the blank pages were intended for? I can almost hear your answers already - collect how you want to collect etc etc - there are no wrong answers - it's personal... But really, I'd like your opinions thanks James

James if you figure to have future intentions of selling it,I would leave it as found. If you want to add things and hang on to it that's when you do what pleases you. There's your problem do you want it or not?I have narrowed my stuff down to what I really want to keep hence the many things I have pawned off on all my friends here. The problem for me was making the decision what to actually keep and what should be passed on to collectors with more interest in the "stuff".

I agree with the Frogmeister, if there is an intention to sell.
Personally, I think the stamps themselves should be the cynosure, and I would happily remove them all and place in protective mounts in their original country's of origin. The booklet was sold for collectors, and I have had similar problems deciding what to do with "Display packs" I have decided to remove and mount.
I was in a low key bidding war with a similar book about 8 years ago, and folded at $25.
