I find my collecting interest has changed since I first returned to collecting. I have a passion for the early GB and line engravings, but how to house them in an album. With all the different plates and wonderful postmarks a collector could fill a whole album with the study of a single stamp. This is what I have come up with, use hangar/vario black stock sheets but instead of just placing the stamp in the row I will take advantage of the different size's available Here is a ms paint mock up of what I thinking I would use quality acid free card stock and clear black mounts then insert into the stock sheet. This way I can place covers, singles on one page. Instead of mounts I strongly leaning towards spending a few quid and buying Dennison's hinges after all most of my collection will be used, sure if I come across a classic mint I will use a mount.

I don't quite follow your thinking. You want to use hinges on a Vario page? Please post images I use Grande Vario for my collection, and I am always looking for inspiration If you want to just use the Varios to insert 'custom' created albums into, I recommend you take a look at the Maximum line. You can get a sheet with 6 pockets per page.

I am thinking Admin feels the stamps will be lost on the Hagner background, so he intends hinging to a piece of white paper?
I have found buying odd lots of Black "open at the top" mounts to be as easy as hinging, my scissor cuts would grate on the perfectionists but the stamp is protected.
I would urge Admin to reconsider mounts, cheaper than Dennison hinges and he could slip in the Hagner above strips of white paper, and leave them free to move?

Here will give you a better Ideal. I have some 3 pocket stockbooks so decided to do a tester with it. The stamps are mounted on cards and inserted into the pockets, I place whatever text I wish to accompany the stamp. By using say vario pages with 2 pockets I be able to have both stamps and covers mounted in a album. I can also place say a whole study of a stamp and place in a pocket of use a vario with 7 or so pockets, I feel this will keep the collection and album looking uniform. Sorry a smudge on the scanner on the Penny Black

I did something similar a while ago : The stamps are not hinged or stuck on, they just stay there due to the pressure from the transparent flap. The paper insert is acidfree. I printed these up as a page and cut the strips out.
