I'm thrilled (so thrilled, I'll post the sellers image instead of waiting for delivery) to have just won this CSA #1 on ebay (sorry if I beat out anyone here - I have to admit to sniping : Don't know if the cancel is legit, and the right side is trimmed rather tight, but got for a decent price. A stamp I figured it would be a while before I acquired. **plus managed to get the wife's Xmas present today, so I'm feeling pretty accomplished. And no, the stamp isn't for her.**

Great stuff. My #1 is trimmed much, much more on the right. Yours is way nicer. I just couldn't pass up mine because it was on cover, and that made up for a lot in my mind. If the stamp was off cover, I wouldn't give it a second look.

That is a beauty. I am still looking for a nice used CSA #1. What is the town name?

BC, I'm pretty sure the postmark is from Lynchburg, same town that Ratio's cover is addressed to.

Andrew Jackson (oops, I mean, Jefferson Davis!) showed up at my door today. Nice looking in person, though I have to admit I'm a little taken aback how thin the paper is. Checking my other CSAs I see a lot of them had pretty lightweight paper. War time economy I guess. I'll need to do some quick research on papers to make sure I've got the real thing. Right now I'm feeling about 75% certain. Here he is front and back.
