An old school friend contacted me for some reason to ask for a little help with this pile of look like WWII fre frank soldiers letters with a return APO address of J Kennedy (apparently a nephew of the John F. Kennedy) I said I'd see what I could do but the images are really wanting. If anyone can add a little information to thees I'd really appreciate it. Thank you very kindly -Jeff
" Ok....Im on a mission...and need help!
Im going this route because my family, that would have any information on this, are all deceased, sadly.
See all these letters? They are from someone that my mom told my sister and I about years ago. He was very interested in her when she was younger (her high school days,1966, and he was in Vietnam) It never turned into anything, that I am aware of, but by these letters, he truly cared about her.
I am hoping that by sharing this information, that I might find him.
They obviously had enough between them that his expressions of interest, combined with her keeping these letters all these years meant something to both of them, but the letters stopped abruptly so I dont know if he survived or not).
I know its been many years, they both may have taken different courses in life....had families and moved on but I think it would be so neat to find him and return his letters; to let him know that they obviously meant something afterall.
My mother was Christine Callahan at the time, from Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania.
His return address name is - J. Kennedy. (Signed the letters Jim and Jimmy)
He was an A1C in the Air Force at the time and the best I can tell from the letters, his home town was in Massachusetts.
According to the stories from her and my grandmother, many years ago when we talked about it....
He is somehow part of the Kennedy family, a nephew of JFK, if remembered correctly.... (still yet to be verified) but it doesn't matter either way, this man truly had an interest in my mother and now that she has passed, these letters were found among her belongings and it has become an interest of mine to meet this man if possible, or to at least locate him to return what was his. I know I would be surprised and grateful to see something of such affection resurface after all these years.
Please, all Im asking is to just share this, hopefully someone will recognize the name.
THANK YOU!!! "
