As my other hobby is photography I have decided to do a thematic collection as a sideline to my Commonwealth interest. What I have noticed though is that its pretty thin on the ground for this specific subject, I have noticed some nice USA stamps depicting some macro and street shots, what I have not seen is actual equipment which I would really like to get hold of. Any ideas where I should look (countries) for this specific theme and any covers that I might look out for? Thank you in advance to any suggestions that is given.

Seems Ebay has a wealth of items, never considered when the thought came to my head. What is a little off putting is that each item fetches a postage rate costing more than the items themselves.

I looked in the index of my 2013 Scott Specialized for US and only 2 major numbers are listed for Photography. There is a 2002 pane of 20 "Masters of Photography" (Scott 3649 -- too new to be in my collection) and the below stamp from 1978 (Scott 1758). If you'd like, PM your address and I'll send you a copy (one without clipped perfs).

The great trick with Thematics, is your buddy, Google. Try differing text strings, and select "images" the results are nearly endless Begin with "photography on stamps" I have problems with my "ACDSee" program (which I paid for) It no longer offers the ability to "create a collage" Otherwise I would offer you my database results Aust 1991 Bulgaria 1989 France 1939 NZ 1979 semi postal underwater phot US 2002 20 stamps DDR germany 1959 cameras Micronesia 2000 first successful 35mm Leica (text string was "35mm on postage stamps" ) If you wish to expand your horizons, don't neglect the Hubble Space telescope, that has 3 cameras aboard. Finland 1989 (glass plate camera) (text string was "Underwater cameras on postage stamps")
