Can anyone help with the year of issue of the following General Goppers Foundation stamps. They were issued by Latvian scouts in exile (in US and Canada) probably in the 1960's-1990's. Thanks. Type 1X Type 2X Type 3X Type 4X Type 5X Type 6X Type 7X

Comb perf cinderellas - nicely done! It took Canada until the early 1970s to finally get it figured out that line perforations were ugly (Bluenoses are beautiful stamps but I don't like that line perf!). And it took the US even longer, they had line perfed stamps well into the 1990s. Come on guys, the Europeans were using comb / harrow perforations well before 1900!

I suspect that the answer lies in that catalog: "Latvian non-postal exile stamps" by M. Zichmanis, 2nd edition 2006 (Boston, USA).
Does anyone have access to that catalog?

I searched the internet, all sold excepting one ($48) If I recall was over my "interest" price for literature. I didn't save the link, sorry. Suggestion: It lies in the Toronto Library, perhaps your good self, or a member can scan the pages? if that is allowed. What about the new issue of the field guide? Do present owners of the tome, get an update of some sort, or we have to purchase the new edition? Thanks.

The manuscript for the 2nd edition already has nearly twice as many stamps and labels as in the first edition. I never really expected there to be so many Canadian cinderellas out there, and keep finding new ones nearly every day. The only way to update the first edition was to integrate all the new finds in the existing chapters. So unfortunately, it is not possible just to issue an update. The 2nd edition will also be a larger format (8.5 x 11 inches) - it would have been too thick a book to keep as a 6 x 9 inch format. I toyed with the idea of splitting it into two or more volumes, but in the end, I think it will be better as a single book, with a comprehensive index. There are a few extra chapters - security seals, air mail etiquettes, postal labels. But it all takes a huge amount of work to research each new item. Right now I'm focussed on completing all the listings. Hopefully that will be completed by April, and I can publish in May, but I'll have a better idea in the coming months.
