Here's one to ponder notice that stripe under postage it ain't suppose to be there.major re-entries areCV$150-300 and typically fetch better than half that.

OOOh frog you need to scan better than that! Set your scanner at 600dpi or greater. Do not scale up a low res scan.

I believe the distortion problem is caused by the plastic cap at the business end of the microscope (due to scratches and possibly glare from the LED lamps). On the USB microscope model I have, there is a lip that allows me to remove the plastic base so there is nothing but air between the stamp and the scope's camera. I also find that placing the microscope directly on the stamp helps me get the image in focus.

I suspect everyone is just wanting to share in the excitement of your find, if possible. I can't imagine anyone is truly grumpy about scans. Some places, yes, but probably not here.
I vote for keeping up the enthusiasm toward the finds, and show what you can. The more you play around with the equipment, the better results you'll get. When I run across my early scans, I cringe.

firstfrog2013 We have no post police, if we did I be the first one to tell them to get lost, no time for that BS. I know BC for a number of years from other places and he is not a post police, I think he meant it in a fun way and you mistook him. As you told me in your message you been working 16 hours straight removing snow. That would make anyone a tad grumpy, even a frog. I suggest that you have a cup of hot chocolate with a shot of the good stuff, if you don't touch the good stuff add a few marshmallows. and get 40 winks. By the way your scan is fine, the digital microscope really blows it up. I have tagged vggvp to take a look, if anyone would know it would be him.

Hi everybody
I was asked by Jack to provide a comment on the subject stamp so here goes. The flaw is not a re-entry. Re-entries always add ink to the stamp whereas this stamp demonstrates missing ink. I suggest that this is a great example of dry inking and is pretty common throughout the Small Queens.
Best wishes

if you don't touch the good stuff add a few marshmallows. Wait, what? I thought marshmallows were the good stuff. What have I been missing?

Hi firstfrog2013,
That is a Dry Print. What happens is when the plate is printed, it is supposed to be wiped clean of excess ink before printing the next sheet. When the plate is not cleaned well, remaining bits of ink become dried in the recesses of the design on the plate. When the next sheet is printed, the dried bits do not mark the stamp sheet and leave white space on the stamp. Although only a small percentage of stamps end up like this, it is not a plate variety but an error in the printing process.
