Does anybody know what stamp mounts are that are sealed on all fouur sides? What's the name of them and who makes them? I don't think they are Crystal mounts unless? Andy would know but he is busy according to his last post.

Hi TinMan
They were called PM mounts. They came in different sizes and were sealed on three sides. You inserted the stamp at the top opening and then folded the clear film over, thus sealing the stamp inside the mount. The back of the mount had some sort of self sticking adhesive. To put the mount into an album you peeled the backing paper and stuck the mount onto the album page.
They are as bad, if not worse, than Crystal mounts. The stamp could not "breath" and the backing paper stuck to the stamp gum. You can usually tell a previously PM mounted stamp by the black fibers on the backof the stamp. A lot of people did not seal the top, myself included, and trimmed the top film flap. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. After I dumped a drawer full of these things in the garbage and removed the stamps from the mounts I lost only a few stamps. Since I use quadrille blank pages exclusively it was a marathon re-mounting session using Showgard mounts.
