I have the following two overprint stamps from the Grenadines of St. Vincent: The 2c stamp is either Michel # VC-GR 4I issued on 24 April 1974 or VC-GR 4II issued on 7 June 1974. The 3c stamp is either Michel # VC-GR 5I or VC-GR 5II with issue dates corresponding to the 2c stamps. Can anyone point me to a resource that will tell me how to determine which stamps I have? I assume it matters as they have different catalog numbers. Thanks in advance for any suggestions on this problem.

Tom, I don't have Michel numbers, but I can tell you your stamps are Scot #5 and #7. They are both "second" printings done locally in St. Vincent due to shortages of the originals. They are done by type setting, while the originals were lithography. The type setting letters have serifs, the typography letters are san-serifs. I hope this helps.

I hadn't noticed the differences in the type but I can see it now. You've not only helped, you've solved the problem. Thanks again!
