I took a look and saw a few that might be of value. This one popped but terrible photo maybe BC will have the scuttlebutt it looks fishy
Then they have it advertised as unchecked, it was a APS circuit book that the laid paper 32 was found in.

I see some interesting items, but to me, not worth what the bidding is up to.

While a large lot and even with the BC that Jack also spotted I don't see anything in there to push it to that price. That BC stamp can be had for less than $100.Guess we're all missing it?? Maybe someone either knows something or expects to turn small profit breaking down to small lots. The large queen cover could be the key can't make out the postmark.

What I collect: If I have a catalogue for it, I collect it. And I have many catalogues ....

I can't guess, Frog - lots of quantity and plenty of mid-range stamps but not much in the 4 figure range, possible exception of the stamp that Jack highlighted. That seller has a lot of people who watch his auctions, and he usually gets high prices relative to what a less popular seller would get, so maybe it's just a bidder's mentality kind of thing - "I'M GONNA FINALLY WIN AN AUCTION" so the prices jump up higher than they should.

I put in token bid early on thinking if I won it good if not better.I stopped at $50 which in my eyes would have been okay.$1000 just not seeing it. What was date for laid paper large queens?? That cover looks like 1868 could be laid paper on cover??Maybe I'm just getting old and don't see well?? Not a lot of earlys which is usually the value. This kind of lot is how the Frog box was born.

What I collect: Worldwide USED up to the 1960's, later years from countries that came into existence after then, like Anguilla, Tuvalu and Transnistria.

The BC 2c brown is a definite forgery - not worth more than a few bucks. The 5c blue nicely used Nova Scotia looks sweet, but only worth maybe $10 or so if in fine condition.

Maybe its the plate blocks or missing tagging? Maybe the bidders have deep pockets and taking a gamble?
Its a nice lot plenty of fun to go through but at a very costly price.
I love that the images are clear and the one's that I really like to have a look at are blurred .
I spent a good hour looking over it. It has some good value but at $1000 way out of my league.

I forgot to mention, the genuine British Columbia stamp is overprinted "TWO CENTS" instead of "2 CENTS", that is how I identified it, despite being blurry.

Final price on that lot $935.00 which was probably about $800 too much.On the positive side makes my collection worth millions in that kind of market.
