Just arrived today, the Opening Day Admission Ticket saving me a whopping £10 ! Courtesy of the organizer of the Cinderella Stamp Club meeting which is being held on that first day. A nice bit of encouragement in my eyes, much like RM's effort to get collectors to go to the Exhibition. Made my day. Can you spot the error ?

Royal Mail have announced their 'goodies' for May and the Exhibition.... Linn's has an article, with images, about some of Royal Mail's planned celebratory issues.

NO EUROPHILEX !! I was hospitalized on Friday quite quickly and although back home now, I have to have some more tests on my 'ticker' and will not be fit to travel. Very disappointing but that's life, nothing I can do. The thought of missing the show I had been looking forward to so much was made worse as I missed the auction I spoke about earlier and the item got away !! Not a very happy weekend !! So, I'll be content with hanging around you lot and posting some stuff that has come through the door recently. Telling Mum was the hardest bit. At 93 years-old, she was looking forward to my help around her house and garden. Oh dear. NotaveryhappyLondonbus1

Admin Orders, put your feet up and relax, you could do worst then hanging out with the gang of TSF. You can always make the trip to old Blighty once you get the green light. While their you should take a quick trip to Dublin and spend a few days at my uncles, he loves history and will take you all over the place on sight seeing. I sent many people his way and they say it was the best holiday they ever had.

Sit in a comfortable chair, relax all your muscles, and just breathe in and out. Think only of how peacefully your breath comes in and goes out. Repeat as often as possible.

Don't you hate when that happens! I once ran myself over with the loader(yep only I could do that)put me out of commission for months. At over six tons I guess I was lucky but didn't feel like that at the time. You just do what makes sense, eat right, walk a bit, sleep good and trust in God. Things will be okay.

I'm so sorry to hear of this, LB.
But thank goodness you were where there was medical care, that you had access to it, and whatever it is you might have may well have been caught in time.
When I experience setbacks and disappointments like this, I try to think that I wasn't supposed go down the first path, and rather there is another path which is better suited for me.
I've also had a cardiac "cloud" hanging over me the last several months, while tests are being approved, performed, and evaluated. I hope to have some answers within the next several weeks. So I can certainly commiserate with your situation.
Sending good thoughts your way ...
-- Dave

Can you sell your ticket on eBay? Most likely, but it's my only souvenir from the show so It will go into the GB Exhibition album with a note, "a ticket from a show I never attended" !!

I have managed to procure a couple of Europhilex overprinted Penny Black Miniature sheets and will be offering one here as a giveaway/competition. They went on sale on the opening day but none were to be found after 10.00am on the Saturday so my sources tell me. This in part explains the already hefty prices on eBay where the cheapest BIN price I found was £37.99 [$56 approx.]. All the auctions I saw had multiple bids with nothing below £24.00. Some were as high as £50.00 !! Original cost was £4.95 [$7.40] There is also a query whether these are really overprints or were an added inscription, much like the KGV sheets at London 2010, Festival of stamps. The regular sheet issued on May 6th had a barcoded strip on the left side. There was no barcode strip on sheets from Presentation packs or on First day covers. I will run the competition/giveaway sometime in June but the winner will not get his prize until September when it will be posted from Stampex with a special cancel. I will not have these in hand until then. My apologies for being absent of late. My health issues took another turn 2 weeks ago when I suffered a slipped disc and when it was almost back in place, it went again. Not a good few weeks. Now I can at least sit down for longer than 5 minutes !! Catching up with all the posts. Londonbus1
