The Cobb County Stamp Club meets ALMOST twice-monthly right at the corner of Windy Hill and Power's Ferry Road, just off the I-75 Windy Hill exit (head EAST) It is next to Mellow Mushroom Pizza, meeting inside the Atlanta Ballet studio, but I promise, we won't be forcing you to do any tricky bar-balancing as the Atlanta Ballet people leave us alone for a while.
Except for late May (Mother's Day) and late November and late December (due to holidays) the meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 1:30pm until about 3:30pm. Be warned, I am frequently the auctioneer there, sometimes even bidding on lots I'm trying to sell for the owner! I share the auctioneer's gavel with Atlanta's very own Tony Roozen--also the owner of the ONLY brick and mortar stamp store in Georgia (Stamps Unlimited, downtown Atlanta).
Bring some fun stuff to sell or trade or if you need a second opinion or translation or just need answers. We'll have a couple dozen old men and a few lovely lassies drooling over your stamp goodies in no time! And don't forget, maybe bring the rent money--er, a couple bucks--to spend on that BARGAIN (I got a 2010 Scott Specialized Catalog in XF condition last year for all of FIVE DOLLARS! New they run over $100. Nuff said, SEE YOU THERE!!!!

Hi jimwentzell, I live in Marietta and I've been tempted quite a few times to stop by and say hi... However, I always have second thoughts because I keep telling myself that the odds of someone collecting or even interested in my own philatelic interests would be close to none. I'm very into Venezuela's first three ESCUELAS series, locals, cinderellas, bobs, a few more things. More recently, learning about the wonderful Colombian stamps. Are there other frequent members of the club with the same, or at least similar interests than mine?

gee, sorry for the late response.... We have quite a few worldwide collectors but not sure about Venezuela as a focus of collecting....I'll research that a little. Meanwhile our next Cobb Stamp Club meeting is 1:30-3:30 July 16, 2023. On the third Sunday in July (as the third Sunday in June is Father's Day and we don't like to interrupt either Fathers' or Mothers' Days. And we MOVED some time ago..... Our new meeting place is:

As someone from NC that has to travel through Atlanta several times a year, it seems difficult judge driving time in Atlanta area.
