I have always found that photobucket is slow and I never use it. Chnage to use Imgur and you will never use photbucket again. Try it out Rod and you'll be glad you did. imgur.com/

I'll place your link in my database. I do like Photobucket though, I have only 40% left till it is full. I have found my problem, I have been infected by adware (revsci.com and ads.revsci.net/adserver ) I have disallowed them in my cookies and have to do a reboot I want to tick a "prompt for any cookie request" anyone know where that is in Windows 7 ? Thanks Jim

rod222I'm running both AdBlock and Ghostery on my browser (Chrome) and see that those apps have blocked 12 ads and 19 trackers on the Photobucket page. Upload for me has been quick. Might those ads and trackers be causing some of your sluggishness?

Hi Rodney
The problem is the Chrome Browser. Photobucket displays a lot of ads and the ads are displayed using Adobe Flash. Chrome disallows the use of your system version of Adobe Flash and only allows their internal version of the product. In the past that internal version is inherently slow and everyone switched to the system version. Disable Flash in Chrome and Photobucket will go faster since it cannot display any ads. However, other web sites may not work until the Flash is re-enabled. Bummer!
Personally I think Google Chrome is shooting themselves in the foot by disallowing system versions of products. Just now they are disallowing plugins using an older technology. Half of the web sites I use for research no longer work under Chrome as they have not been updated to the new technology. Thinking of going back to IE or Firefox.

Jerry, I have blocked revsci (nasty fellow) and Photobucket loads immediately, so will carry on, I'll post back, if further problems I appreciate your time/knowledge in response.

PB is OK from here. I use IE for most stuff but Chrome for Photobucket because it's less problematic. The ads are there but not bothersome up to now. Speed is good.

I was so pleased with the free download of AdBlock that I made a donation...it even eliminates the ProBoards ads when viewing the forum without having logged in!

There is a known issue with google chrome and shockwave. What happens is shockwave is plugin is install twice. You can follow the intructions found all over the web to resolve this issue. here is one site to read: www.howtogeek.com/103292/how-to-fix-shockwave-flash-crashes-in-google-chrome/I uninstalled google chrome and shockwave completely. Not hard. Used IE to re-install chrome and checked the plugins. Then re-installed shockwave. This works wonders.
