Found out earlier Today Jeff lost his battle with cancer.
I have been keeping an eye on his facebook page, and tried to email him. One of his last posts here was he was going to spend time with family.
Amy his wife posted this.
I spent many hours chatting with Jeff and will dearly miss him, we often had chats about music or life in general, he became a true friend. till we meet again old friend.
For members that just joined TSF Jeff was a co/Admin of the forum without his help and input I believe the forum may not have developed the way it is. Jeff was a big part of kick starting the site.
His collection has been passed to his daughter Alley who also shares Jeff's passion for stamps.
To Alley If you happen to stumble across this thread in years to come remember that your Dad was loved by many people and will be dearly missed

The enthusiasm Jeff showed toward his collecting interests was energizing...he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Steve Jeff sure had enthusiasm his collection of tobacco adverstnent covers was and is outstanding his passion for the postal history of jersey shrore is something few collectors will ever have. I really in a downer after finding out about his passing. I was looking forward to a weeks fishing in Jeff's hidden fishing holes. I feel like I lost a brother and will take time to heal. Funny how you meet someone on the internet and they become family without meeting in person I spent a good part of the day sheadding a tear looking over Jeff's posts. Were ever you are buddy let it be known you are missed. I getting my fishing gear sorted out for a fishing trip this week and will throw a line for you. Jeff you are one of the good ones that life decided to take young " only the good die young" Every time I open up a album you will be in my thoughts may you rest in peace brother and if they have the internet were you are please stop by and have a look in. I hope alley continues your collection she will always have a safe harbour here at TSF I hope she one day stops by and continue your collection I found it fascinating Admin out old buddy, take care and look forward sitting down with you. Mac and huckles will keep you company till then RIP old friend

It will hurt less if you keep your thoughts on how Jeff's suffering has finally stopped.

A sad day for Stamps, The Stamp Forum and for his family and friends. We will miss him. His enthusiasm for his hobby in the face of pain and discomfort was amazing, and I will never forget it. Let it be an inspiration to others.
I have lost a few friends this year, including those I have never met. Living away from many friends and close family, I have found much comfort in my Philatelic 'buddies', most of whom I have never met in person. Jeff was one of those. May he Rest in Peace.
My thoughts and condolences go to Amy and Alley and his friends and family.
ILS- I Love Stamps.........you really did.

I've been slowly replacing Jeff's blocked Photobucket images (600+ so far) and it has been a walk down memory lane. For those who didn't get the opportunity to know him, Jeff (I.L.S.) was a bundle of enthusiasm over seemingly everything he was involved with. Here is a picture Jeff posted of him with Alley, the daughter he loved so deeply. Being able to bring it back to life on the forum has made the image restoration process even more important to me.

I am sorry to say that I never knew Jeff. But I am really impressed by the comments made about him here. He must have been an amazing person. So, I can see that I need to seek out his posts on TSF, and learn more about him and his TSF legacy. Speaking of which, special thanks to Steve ( tomiseksj) for working on preserving Jeff's posts by replacing the blocked images. I will endeavor to get to know Jeff a little through his TSF legacy. To me, TSF stands for The Stamp Family as much as anything else.

I sometimes throw a "this one's for Jeff" before launching into a tune.He was a most unforgettable character who shared my passions for stamps and music.Has anyone heard from Amy or Alley ? I sent a note to his address but received no response. It may have been my poor penmanship that discouraged that.I did pass by Jersey Shore on the recent trip.
