It's also listed as red, mr frog. You might have a forgery there. Maybe send a scan off to Mr van Dam and see what he thinks.
Also, there's a Revenue study group in BNAPS. I could send an image off to them and ask for an opinion if you like, or forward the info to you.
This is curious. My vote is forgery.

That was my thought too James. What always amazes me is when I find one of these suspected forgeries is that they seem to be unique, stands to reason if someone were to create one would not there be more around?? More fodder in my crazy collection.

Jimjung, those forgery prices are actually in line with real stamp prices.Guess even in failure to fool they still made a market for the goods.

There is a fella named Ken Pugh who is the Van Dam of forgeries. He has a website which mostly shows his books on the subject. But there are some additional forgeries not shown in books under About - Research Problems. He is also the contact for the BNAPS Study Group on Fakes and Forgeries. You should send him an email.

I know I should by all that's right consult others but, I collect for myself. To have someone tell me the obvious is to me pointless I have never been impressed by people who feel the need to put initials after their name, rather I prefer to deal with people like yourself who are the reason the others can put those credentials out there.

What I collect: Canada Cinderella stamps

I haven't seen it in blue before, but the design is very close to a similitude of a Canadian 9 cent QV bill stamp that was printed on a advertising post card featuring postage stamps from England. Early versions of the postcard just had images of the unused stamps. Later versions of the postcard had the stamps with circular cancellations in various orientations. But the cancellation is always the same: "LONDON / 14 / MAI / 79". I have this similitude listed as cc7910 in the Field Guide to the Cinderella Stamps of Canada. I suspect the postcard was printed in France or Belgium.

Cindycan seems to fit the "bill".Wonder where the blue one came from. Was there anything special about that date? I surely do find the strange stuff.

Nothing special about the date that I can see, though I would guess it dates the card to around 1879.
