Hi Jim and welcome. If you are interested in the small and large queens from Canada, the small queens are the easiest to find on a budget.Look for lots or collections containing numerous examples and your started. The large queens are a bit pricey but sub fine copies are good for study group and can be had much cheaper.Look for lots that contain more than one stamp you will rapidly find your numbers growing and soon have enough to start comparing them.A good magnifier and a perf gauge are necessary as well as even an older copy of the Unitrade catalog to start.

I shop mostly Ebay but use multiple such as Ebay Ca. U.K. etc.Shopping in other markets such as auctions and Estores works well too. A lot of other sites offer single stamps which is not really the way to get numerous copies at discount price.Good luck Jim,when you reach fifty posts I'll send along what I have about at that time to get you started.

Thanks in advance for any help Jim Chefchauen Morroco You are a brave man All mine are in glassines, I have not the courage or the (assumed) time to nut them all out. They are in the "later on" agenda, each year, they become "next years" tackle.

That Lumsden example is great. I'm only a half-step ahead of rod, in that I have started getting them out of the glassines and onto Vario pages. With the predicted start of a mini-Ice Age, I fully expect to be snowed in for a week one of these years, and boy, am I ever gonna get some stuff done then.

Here's one that people don't usually notice much. The Latent Re-entry in the upper left corner. It's even listed in Scott number 36viii.

See, this is probably why I don't bother to work on my Queens you guys talk in French. Personally, I do not see a re entry, I see a splodge above the floral work, but to my mind that is not a re entry. When the sideographer rolls his die over the master plate, a re entry usually shows as "double vision" on the print. I see none of that. But what do I know?

But what do I know? rod, I`ve worked with these for awhile and don`t explain much anymore unless asked. Here`s a link to the re-entries.com webpage for this stamp. It`s the 2nd stamp down and Ralph`s explanation is much better than mine. And remember the Small Queens were printed in Montreal and Ottawa, both French speaking cities.

Gee whizz, cannot get my head around that. A re entry by a complete half a stamp? I'd need someone to explain that to me in depth, that just doesn't make sense. The "major re entry" example. yes, I can see that. I can see my small queens remaining in glassine for some time yet

Rod, I`m quite the opposite. I can`t wait to get my hands on the stamps that I buy. You may have a mini goldmine there in those glassines. There are a few Canadian stamps that have the Misplaced Entry. The most famous being the Double Epaulettes variety on the 10c Consort. Here is an example from my collection showing this variety. The extra image is above the shoulders of the Prince Consort and is really part of the oval. Since it looks like a doubling of his Epaulettes, hence the name. Here is Ralph`s explanation on this one (much better than mine).
