Sorry, I don't have one for Chrome. With Google owning YouTube, they disable that function on the extensions available through the Chrome store. There are several available outside the Chrome store, but I haven't tried any of them. When I need to download a YouTube video, I just open it in Firefox.

Right. Gotcha I'll have to download firefox browser. Mine was working, but I guess an automatic update in Chrome suddenly disabled my downloads. Thanks for the heads up.

I was about to recommend YTD Video Downloader, which I have used for a couple of years now. But then I read recent reviews, and it looks like they have ruined it by including unwanted bloatware with the installer. Pity. For those on linux, the youtube-dl application works very well.

I had downloaded a program "Tampermonkey" but felt a little exposed and uneasy, I'll rip that off my computer, directly. Yours is just brilliant. Thanks. A little present for you, to brighten your day, as thanks .................

Hi Mick I have had YTD for years, no longer works with Google Chrome (at least on my box)

I have always used KeepVid - I just tried it out again (I also use Chrome) and it worked fine as is, able to download and save an .MP4 video that I can then view with my video software. In their "Extensions" section they mention something about first downloading TamperMonkey (!!!) but I have never used a KeepVid extension, I just enter the video URL directly.
