Hi Rodney
Great thread! The excerpt about the Congress definitely shows the "snobs" that Cinderella collecting is alive and well.

The auction will be a small one but select, with some scarce and special items. I will be viewing the lots a few days before and hope to find something missing from my collection of Exhibition material !!
It promises to be a special event with much Cinderella interest at Stampex too in the run-up to this inaugural Cinderella Congress.
More to come.........

The Auction catalogue has landed on my desk and it is split into 2 parts. The first 218 lots are for the Congress Auction and the remainder for the October CSC Auction. We'll leave the latter for another time. The Congress Auction section has some very nice and tempting lots on offer including some Stockbooks with mixed Cinderellas that might hold some bargains. Also, plenty of Revenues especially for those who collect GB, Jersey, Guernsey, Yugoslavia or Germany. Lots of locals including many from GB [Bogus?] and the USA [Forgeries ?] and some great-sounding Poster stamp lots especially Austria. And of course, a lot more besides. Now I need to start saving my shekels to make a bid or two !! Latest info tells me that at the moment there will be 6 tables taken by dealers or collectors for the sale of Cinderella material, including one from Sweden. I am thinking about taking a table myself but have not yet made my mind up. What do you think ? Relax and enjoy the show or enjoy the show and try to sell some unwanted material ? Bit of a dilemma but I need to book soon. The tables are free which may be a deciding factor. Just as an aside, I will be reporting on the Congress and the connection with Autumn Stampex [London, UK] in the 2nd Edition of the upcoming TSF Newsletter. The Event comes too late for the Opening issue. If any British-based members or readers of our forum are interested in either Stampex [Sept 14-17] or the World's First Cinderella Stamp Congress [Sept 16-18] then please let us know or just come along. Happy Collecting. Londonbus1.....

I have decided to take a table at this event and will report on this inaugural Cinderella Congress when I return at the end of the month. With pics of course ! Yesterday, I learned there will be a sale of books including Delandre Labels, GB Commemorative Cinderellas and the British Empire Exhibition 1924-5 amongst others. I am told there will be plenty of stock to go around for those interested. If anyone here would like me to look out for something in the Cinderella field, just ask.....until SaturdayMorning early !! I will be viewing the auctions lots on Tuesday before Congress. Hopefully can pick up a few bits in a private sale !! Londonbus1
