Stuart Weitzman, the current owner of the one-cent magenta, has loaned it to the US National Postal Museum for display until Nov 2017. Yesterday I went to see it. Must say, I was underwhelmed. Probably for conservation reasons, the case it is in is very dark. You can see both sides, but it is hard to make out anything other than the shape. Anyone else been to the museum to see it? After a quick look at the one-cent Magenta, I went over to admire the Basel Dove. What a beautiful stamp.

Hi Jen
I saw the one-cent magenta at a show, Ameripex I believe. It was not in the dark and one could see the stamp fairly well. The back, however, was hidden from view. It was impressive.
