Hi, all. New member, long time collector. I am an expatriate Texan now living in Maine (long story). I am 67, soon to be 68, and have been collecting for almost 60 years.
My interests are: (1) USA (cut off at 1990) MNH 20th century, whatever I can afford 19th century; (2) Great Britain to 1952; (3) British commonwealth to 1952; (4) Liberia; (5) general worldwide to 1945.
I love to talk about stamps, but have many other interests as well. I have an interest in photography, computers (miniscule knowledge of HTML and Python), writing, the law, history, reading (mysteries and SciFi), movies and television.
I invite dialog on just about anything, but please, no politics or religion - I have opinions and beliefs with respect to both, but they are private.

Hi Bobby, and welcome to the forum. If you get a chance to do some scanning, it would be great to see some of your Liberian collection. I was just looking at some the other day (on the web, alas, not my own) and there are some really good looking ones. (Especially those showing local fauna, for which I have a real weakness.)

Hi Bobby. I too have branched into Liberia although I've slacked off after the whole government question. For awhile you couldn't be sure what was an actual stamp and what was private printing by some enterprise.I may actually get back into it soon.I am fairly complete til 1988 or there bouts I guess. love to see some of your stuff for sure.

I like the Liberian issues up to1960, but kind of stop around there. Of special interest to me are the Jehudi Ashmun issues of 1949 and 1952. I do have those pages scanned (on one of my computers - just have to locate it) and will post it soon in a country thread. I have been accumulating Liberia for awhile, and keep saying I am going to organize my collection on Steiner pages, but every time I start to do so, I get distracted.

You will definitely fit right in the designer of the issue you mention has his own thread here.I have progressive proofs of that issue myself.Guess birds of a feather do flock together.

Help out a newbie, please! I am attempting to post images, but am doing something wrong. I click the "Insert image" icon and enter the information requested, then click the "insert image" tab. The image appears to upload correctly. However, when I click on the "create post" tab. the post is created but the image has disappeared. What did I fail to do?

Sorry Bobby. We have no corporate sponsor and quickly used up our allocation of free storage space. A decision was made that monies raised by donation would be used to keep the forum ad free, rather than purchasing additional storage. Accordingly, member images need to be hosted offsite in a host such as Photobucket. The primary downside of that option is that once uploaded, members must remember not to delete or move the original images or the links will be broken. Here is a link to a thread in the FAQ that might be of help to you.

Thanks, tomiseksj, but I had already seen that thread and it only addresses how to use photobucket. I have my own domain and store my files there, so I just need the proper TSF tags to code my image. HTML code would be <img src=http://bobbybarnhart.net/image-name.jpg>, so if someone would just instruct me in the proper way to encode an image upload on TSF, I'll be good to go (and very appreciative to boot)!!

Welcome Bobby! It's so good to see you here and I think we're forming a presence for New England. I'll be trying to upload some images later, so I'll let you know if I figure anything out.

bobby1948Try pasting the web address directly into the post where you want it to appear, then highlight it and click on the insert image button. When the insert image box opens, click on "insert image" and the software should ensure the proper formatting.

Bobby are you able to get the IMG code, what you have been using is the HTML code.
Whith the IMG you just copy and paste it in the body of the post, no buttons or attachments just paste it and you are done. The IMG code will look like this [URL=http:

bobby1948 Here is what your link would look like in image code. As Admin mentioned above, this format can be pasted directly into the post. You can toggle back and forth between Preview and BBCode to see the image as it will display or its code, respectively. p.s., I think we'll need to work a little more on the FAQ section.

Hey, Antonio! Good to see you! Your insight and thoughts will be greatly appreciated. One more day and I'll be "street legal" (today is my 13th day as a member) and I will begin to liven things up with some nice giveaways and maybe some contests.
