Stopped by here to check it out.I'm a original Woodstock veteran so you know I'm old.people have called me Frog so long even my Mom calls me Froggy. I started collecting Canada in 1959. I've narrowed it down to eight numbers missing.when that became boring I started collecting cinderillas and USED blocks very hard to find. Then I started on Liberia( kind of like inverted centers)Paying off daugther's college loans so budget a bit tight right now.I also collect vintage guitars(still shred a string now and then)I recently started looking for straight edge admirals and private perfins.See some familiar collectors here will help where i can.

i am familiar with 32 mainly in the Kingston area.. when i went to school i would hitch hike to Hudson ...did not frequent Catskill..when i get off the thruway in Catskill i still get confused getting to the bridge. On the straight edge admirals 1911-25 do you want any copies or are you particular ?

FirstFrog I didn't know you played the guitar! I'm a long time musician as well! Infact I played in a touring act since the early 90's but that foolishness is over now. lol I was at Watkins Glen in 1973 for the Allman Brothers, The Band & the Grateful Dead!
PHIL!!! Glad you stopped in again! We missed you. -Jeff

Jeff, I lost my thirty year band mate last winter.Tried a few locals but nothing has quite clicked Yet.I still like to play but,it really takes alot out of me I'm still kind of front man and love to give a little flash although fingers don't do what they did forty years ago.

I hear ya bro! I do a lot of finger style Mississippi John Hurt, Big Bill Broonzy and the like but I was trained on lots of stringed instruments. I've filled in for Karl Mueller of Sould Asylum, Bad religion, even the Dead Milkmen once. I've been around. The last big show I played was with Levon Helms from the Band (up on cripple creek, etc..). I'm well versed in all genres of music.

Yeah Jeff,I have been playing around with a banjo and newest mandolin kind of confusing as the tuning is so different and as I'm sure you know when you see that C chord your fingers go to what you learned NOT what you're learning.

thanks Jeff now I cant get that song out of my head. Helms one great drummer. Oh man what a great "movie" your video was taken from -The Last Waltz! On this topic the most memorable "rock-star" (tongue-in-cheek) that I ever had the pleasure of meeting was Rick Danko. It was about 2 years before he died, but he was the probably the nicest man I have ever met in that context. I was in New Jersey for a show and holed up in a hotel is where I seen him. I introduced myself and he had done the same. I thought he would just scurry off to "rock-n-roll land" or at least pretend to be super busy but he did not! We ended up in the bar (at the hotel) and while making conversation with him I brought up course "Festival Express" - To my absolute amazement and absolute joy he grabbed up my acoustic guitar and started playing and singing "no more cane on the Brazos". I was just completely dumbstuck.. that night he and I got totally plastered and jammed acoustically until the bar closed. That is a memory I will NEVER EVER forget. Rick Danko was an amazing musician! He could play anything and was telling me about their time with Dylan at "Big Pink"...That's another story altogether! lol An amazing evening to be certain.

I used to have a Deering banjo but I couldn't play it worth a squat! I love the sound of a mandolin. Have you ever heard of David Grisman? If not then you should. He's an amazing madolin-ist (Is that what they're called? lol)

Did not do the google but Bon Jovi has a very talented stringman. There are some very amazing talents around.Saw our boy ERIC in Pittsburgh last spring the bass player was a shining star and I'm not usually impressed with the four string.
