At an estate auction today with the missus. Nothing philatelic offered, but I was taken by a large box of records. Nothing modern, but lots of Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and the like. I'm listening to Vera Lynn right now. And the records are immaculate! Barely a pop. My point is, amongst the vinyl I found two 78s. One a childrens record, but the other one is pretty interesting, and I thought worthy of this forum. It is a spoken letter from England to a woman in Alberta Canada. My turntable doesn't play 78s unfortunately, but I put it on at 45 and was able to speed it up a bit (my Denon turntable is adjustable). Was able to make out some, but he still sounds like Boris Karloff on downers.
