Senf's Postage Stamp AlbumThe Senf Brother's were forgers. They had a legitimate trade as well. They published stamp albums. Here's an advertisement scanned from one of my Shaubeck albums. This one from 1912. The Senf brothers (Louis and Richard), from Leipzig, Germany, also printed a journal known as the 'Illustrierten Briefmarken Journal'. They added 'Kunst-Beigaben' or 'art supplements' to each issue of the journal. Their forgeries were supposed to always have the overprint 'Facsimile' or 'FACSIMILE' or 'FALSCH' included in the design. But that's questionable. Their forgeries were sold to collectors. Here's a great site you'll enjoy: Album Weeds (click)Thanks for viewing.
