Holly Moses! Israel Post Company: The erosion of quality of service are visible almost every day! Terrible how this Company ignore all of basic rules! This company, have and FaceBook page, and are very directly informed: how people struggle with waiting in row, in every PO branches around country! Responsible managers in this company know well that mail delivery from twice per day, go down to once per week! And now, see my surprise of today! "R" mail, opened by someone, on top! I asked clerk who made it, and where - "response" was very simple: "...I don't know..."! (take it - or leave it). Basic procedure are: to put this open-up mail in one small PVC bag, put on it "Declaration" that mail arrive opened, and that recipient know that it is recorded in Post. Here, for long time almost, this procedure are totally ignored, and no one can be sure what is happening. (we can only doubt the matter) ...terrible deteriorating in service, that is result of going Gov't Co. to Public Co.

Milco, you must live in the wrong place.
I am a bit north of you and the Postal service here is very good. Post always on time, registered mail always needs to be signed for and any damaged or opened letters arrive in plastic sealed bags with description. The only complaint I have is that mail to destinations overseas does not get a cancel, but the same can be said for half the worlds postal services....just a sign of the times.
Post Offices are always busy with long queues but at least they are post offices. In the UK, there aren't many left and it's a bit disheartening to have to queue up for an hour in the supermarket or bookshop !!
Complaining:
In our area, complaints are taken seriously. For example, there was a time when a postal worker would tear the stamps off my incoming mail for his own collection. I took my mail to the main office and was promptly taken on a tour of the sorting office........and they must have got to the root of the problem because future mail arrived intact.
What else....Oh yes, I have on two occasions had registered mail go missing or part missing and on each occasion I got my money back in quick time to cover the losses.
All in all, quite satisfied. so off you go and complain, but make sure you get a higher authority !!
Londonbus1........40kms northwards !
