The ebay seller has identified the stamp as PR8, the 1880 American Bank Note company print on soft porous paper with a white border. I can't comment on whether it is real or fake; however, three 5c reprints of this design were issued subsequent to the PR2 with each having a white border. Here are images of Scott PR4, PR5 & PR8, respectively, that were certified as genuine by the Philatelic Foundation.

Note that a colored border is not enough to distinguish the forgeries. Some of the forgeries have colored borders too: Sc PR3 forgery

The forgeries are quite numerous & some are very good The new installment of WW Forgeries covers this series link
BTW, the eBay stamp by all accounts appears genuine Some of the genuine marks are visible. If the paper & embossing are right and it is not a modern repro, then at present it is quite a bargain. Almost TOO GOOD for a stamp with a CV of $750 which sells on auctions for $350-$400
