I have a small stash of French Colonies that our late great friend Jeff (ILS) sent to me. Needless to say, I will not be parting with them. These Moroccan Airmails were included. |

A series of stamps were issued in 1939 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the French Revolution. 24 colonies each issued a set of 5 stamps,and 8 of these colonies also issued a high value airmail stamp.This is a registered letter from Tahiti to Paris,via SFO and NYC,sent in Sept 1939.There is also a censor or contrl cancel.  |

James, I am a bit late on your post but this is great stuff (I have the Airmail series from Maroc also) as well as some 125 stamps when Maroc (Morocco) was under the French Proctectorat - Thanks for showing - René |

Surprised to see this one come up again. They are nice, and I do like the designs.
However I should correct my 2016 post and mentioned that I did part with those French Colonies, (was it last year?) when they were part of an auction to help raise money for the Cancer Ride. I think Jeff would have approved!

Anniversary of French Revolution airmail issue used on registered covers. One from Saigon,Indo-China to Paris,March 1940. One from St Denis,Reunion to Paris,Sept 1939,with a red control or censor stamp.   |

Registered letter from Pointe Noire AEF to Paris in August 1939,with the airmail stamp from the anniversary of the French Revolution series.  |

Senegal was one of the eight colonies which issued a high value airmail stamp to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the French Revolution. This letter was mailed from Dakar on July 24,1939 to Paris and was backstamped on arrival in Paris on July 27,1939....excellent service !!!!  |
