March 7th, 1923
Inflation-period cover from Moghilev, Podolia to Berlin, 21/3/1923 (Brender correspondence). The cover is franked correctly for the 10R rate with block of 10 of 100R imperf definitive (edge of sheet with control line) - 100 rubles in 1922 currency was equivalent to 1 ruble in 1923 currency. Instead of a typical registration label, a blue-border insured-letter one was used. An additional cancellation of Moscow on the back.

8th March (1896)Netherlands Indies, Scott #25, 15-cent bister definitive stamp, depicting Queen Wilhelmina, postmarked on this date in 1896 in Malang. This is a very nice "socked-on-the-nose", squared-circle cancellation. From Wikipedia: "Malang is the second largest city in Jawa Timur (East Java), Indonesia. It has a history dating back to the age of Singhasari Kingdom. As the second most populous city in the province, the 2016 census recorded 887,443 people in the city. Its built-up (metro) area was home to 2,795,209 inhabitants spread on 2 cities and 22 districts (21 in Malang Regency and 1 in Pasuruan Regency). The city is well known for its mild climate. During the period of Dutch colonization, it was a popular destination for European residents. Until now, Malang still holds its position (as) a popular destination for international tourists."

Exactly 100 years ago, March 15, 1918(maybe 1919), if I'm reading it correctly. This one is a puzzle. I couldn't find any mention on the internet of S.PEDRODOCRAT or variations such as Sao Pedro Docrat in the province of Ceara. EDIT: I've been digging some more and finally came up with a likely town -- Caririaçu! Quoting from Wikipedia: "In August 1876 , the village of Serra de São Pedro was renamed São Pedro do Crato (alluding to the mother city ), São Pedro do Cariri , and since 1943 , Caririassú and finally Caririaçu"

15th March (1890)Great Britain, Scott #89, 1-penny lilac definitive stamp depicting Queen Victoria, postmarked on this date in 1890 in Farnborough, Hampshire, England. I acquired this stamp as part of a collection, and it is interesting for me in that it was both postmarked and hole-punched, which seems unusual. I had the impression that hole-punching such as this was normally an act of revenue cancelling rather than a postal one. From Wikipedia: "Farnborough is a town in north east Hampshire, England, part of the borough of Rushmoor and the Farnborough/Aldershot Built-up Area. Farnborough was founded in Saxon times and is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. The name is formed from Ferneberga which means 'fern hill'. The town is probably best known for its association with aviation – Farnborough Airshow, Farnborough Aerodrome, Royal Aircraft Establishment, and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch." Farnborough in Hampshire is not to be confused with the Farnborough district of London or Farnborough in Berkshire county. I have actually traveled to Farnborough in Hampshire county, as my former employer owns a small manufacturing company there, which is located very near to the famous airfield.

March19, 1948 from Poborszow, Poland. Poborszow is a village in southwest Poland. About four years before this stamp was canceled it was Poborschau, Germany. The stamp, C15, shows a Douglas DC3 "Dakota" over the ruins of Warsaw.
