I thought this stamp was cancelled on June 3, 1959 in Hamilton, Bermuda. However the stamps in this series were issued on July 29, 1959. (Ooops!)
The arms of James I and Elisabeth II were printed by lithography while the text was engraved. Here is the coat of arms of Hamilton.

June 4, 1913? from Darney in the Vosges region of France. EDIT:
I was confused by the apparent 1940 lettering, which I expected to indicate time of day, so I found a stamp with a similar type of cancel and again see what appears to be a distorted 40. What am I missing?

This stamp got cancelled somewhere in France on this day in 1978. Perhaps even where BG is located. The stamp is Scott 1606, for the 50th anniversary of the Beautification of France campaign.

Cover from Rybinsk, Soviet Union to Dessau, Germany (16/6/34). Franked correctly at 35k with definitives. Registered with a crude home-made label consisting of a rectangular oblong piece of paper (perfed on one side!!) written-in with violet pen to resemble a regular “R” label.

This stamp got cancelled somewhere in France on this day in 1978. Perhaps even where BG is located. Thanks for your little tag there, Mick! In fact, I had not picked up on it until today, as your post was made on the day I was flying from France back to California. Anyway, thanks! I always like to think about those little connections which have the ability to shrink our world a bit.... 8th June (1926) Italy, Scott #180, 60-centesimi red brown commemorative stamp, issued to mark the 700th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi on 30th January 1926. This example was postmarked on today's date in 1926 in Alessandria. From Wikipedia: Alessandria (Piedmontese: Lissandria) is a city and commune in Piedmont, Italy, and the capital of the Province of Alessandria. The city is sited on the alluvial plain between the Tanaro and the Bormida rivers, about 90km (56 mi) southeast of Turin (Torino). Alessandria is also a major railway hub. I should also add that I acquired this stamp from bobby1948 in his huge Worldwide Classic Stamp Giveaway several months ago--thanks, Bobby!

9th June (2017) Germany, 1.50 Euro, self-printed postage from KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) on this date last year. For those of you who remember my month spent in Karlsruhe last year, mid-June to mid-July, this is an image of the postage from the envelope containing my first consulting contract which preceded that trip. I also want to give a shout-out of thanks to Steve ( tomiseksj ) not only for his critical role in TSF, but also for starting this Postmark Calendar thread back on 10-Aug-2013. The thread will turn 5 years old two months from now, and it is still going strong. Steve, thanks so much for your leadership and dedication to TSF. We all benefit from it every day here on the Forum! And by the way, here's wishing you a very Happy Birthday today!! Aerial view of Karlsruhe and part of the KIT Campus From Wikipedia: "The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) (German: Karlsruher Institut für Technologie) is a public research university and one of the largest research and educational institutions in Germany. KIT was created in 2009 when the University of Karlsruhe (Universität Karlsruhe), founded in 1825 as a public research university and also known as the "Fridericiana", merged with the Karlsruhe Research Center (Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe), which had originally been established in 1956 as a national nuclear research center (Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe, or KfK). "KIT is one of the leading universities for engineering and the natural sciences in Europe, ranking sixth overall in citation impact. KIT is a member of the TU9 German Institutes of Technology e.V. As part of the German Universities Excellence Initiative, KIT was awarded an excellence status in 2006. In the 2011 performance ranking of scientific papers, Karlsruhe ranked first in Germany and among the top ten universities in Europe in engineering and natural sciences. Ranked 26th worldwide in computer science in the internationally recognized "Times Higher Education" ranking, KIT is among the leading universities worldwide in computer science. "As of 2018, six Nobel laureates are affiliated with KIT. The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is well known for many inventors and entrepreneurs who studied or taught there, including Heinrich Hertz, Karl Friedrich Benz and the founders of SAP SE."

7k Soviet PSE used as a blank in independent Ukraine from Kharkov to Kiev (12/6 backstamp). The envelope had originally been upgraded to 3 karbovanets with the addition of a "2-93" meter handstamp to pay an earlier rate. By the time of mailing, the intercity letter rate had jumped to 100 karbovanets due to galloping inflation - the new rate was paid with the appropriate definitive.

June 11, 1938 at an unknown hour of the day from Leipzig 01 in Germany Inscription below is Nachträglich entwertet (cancelled afterward or later) The precise meaning is not clear to me. Possibly it means the mail was left in a bin for some time after receipt. Or, does it mean someone forgot to cancel it at the point of origin?

Perhaps @falshung or PostmasterGS can help with the full meaning of this postmark.... Edit: After making the initial post, I did a quick check and saw that scb had already responded to a question about this postmark on another site. According to what he said, it seems that you were correct, Andrew. It is a postmark applied later in the process after initial cancelling was apparently missed.

This was a interesting method of mail delivery for the period by ball coach Although there is only one rider, it was not uncommon though not sanctioned to take on passengers for some extra cash. This is an actual ball mail coach in a museum I case you're wondering - OK how do you put in the mail - this is the door on the other side
