June 17, 1957 from Grenoble (on the Isere river) Made the mistake of reading about Grenoble. Now I'm envious...I thought I had picked the nicest place on earth, but Grenoble sounds better!

June 25, 1956(or maybe July) from Sabon Gabi B.O. Kano (the Sabon Gabi in the city of Kano)
Sabon Gabi apparently were special areas for displaced Southern Nigerians. They morphed into neighborhoods. B.O. may be Business or British Office?

June 26The United Nations (New York) marked its 20th Anniversary on this date in 1965 with the issuance of two perf. 14x13.5 stamps (5 cent dark blue (Scott 143) & 15 cent lilac rose (Scott 144)) and a souvenir sheet (Scott 145) containing the two stamps. Shown below are two first day covers with Art Craft cachets that each bear one half of the souvenir sheet.

June 26The United Nations (New York) marked its 20th Anniversary on this date in 1965 Here is another June 26 First Day Cover. This one is from 1951 celebrating 10 years of UN stamps. I suspect there are many more June 26 FDCs from other years. A side note: This cover was not issued exactly 10 years after the first stamp. The first stamp was issued on October 24, 1951. There also appear to be a lot of October 24 UN FDCs.
October 24, 1945 was the date the UN was established while the charter was signed on June 26, 1945.

Switzerland 40c (Scott 715), cancelled in St Gallen. Celestino Piatti's "Oath of Eternal Fealty", presumably oath of eternal allegiance to the feudal lord. Why would Switzerland commemorate an oath of feudal allegiance?

June 30, 1947 from an unknown location. I couldn't find rio tardi in Brazil. I also am not sure of the place name "D.PEDRO II ?SU" Pedro is an extremely common name in Brazil....See Emperor Dom Pedro II.

I couldn't find rio tardi in Brazil. ... According to Google Translate, "rio tarde" means "late afternoon" in Portuguese.

I just started going through a raft of covers from down under & 100-200 from Luxembourg. What do you know, here's one posted on this day in 1961 at Sydney NSW, the 1 shilling commemorative recognizing the 10th Anniversary of the Colombo Plan. Its aim was to promote interest in and support for the economic and social development of Asia and the Pacific. Canada was a member of it, as was Great Britain, Cambodia & South Vietnam. There are 27 countries still in the plan, of which Vietnam is a member. (the back of the cover has a grease-pencil scrawled note, at least it wasn't on the front!)

So I went through my Luxembourg covers & postcards. I didn't find any for July until I was ½ way though. Here are 3 of Grand-Duke Jean's first (day cover) definitives, cancelled on this date. This series first appeared in April 1965, and continued on until September of 1991. (Michel 828x, 829x, 830x & 831x)
(Michel 1080z issued July 1, 1983)

Here are a couple more from New Zealand, one of the first countries I collected as a kid. King George VI 1d red on a postally used FDC.
This registered letter must have been sent surface, since it took the full month to reach its destination. Imagine too that it only cost 4 pence to send a registered letter to a foreign country!
