Here's a FDC for Mark Twain's entry in the 1940 Famous Americans series, issued and postmarked 82 years ago today: Feb 13, 1940, in his hometown of Hannibal, Missouri. As of now I believe this is the oldest FDC in my collection. I like how well the stamp's engraving seems to capture Twain's sharply ironic perspective on the world.  |

Feb 18 03Cover - Canada Bradford (Ont.) too Barrie, Ontario with a 2 ç QV numeral issue stamp (Unitrade # 77 Die 1) Duplex cancel showing the dater + killer with 8 bars This would represent a circle postmark and a cancel on same cover (front) and reception postmark on the back

1-½d red-brown King George VI. I can't find it, so it's either Scott 161 or 189. Nice cancel, but can't make out the town name.
I finally remembered this thread, as I've missed a few this year! Its folder is now buried in the Documents folder. Even though I am in it all the time, I never think of it.
