Today is a big day in modern U.S. postal history: 15 years ago, USPS issued its first Forever stamp, Scott 4125, a definitive with an image of the Liberty Bell. It sold for 41 cents at the time, and will still carry a first-class letter if you have any lying around. Here's a FDC with a postmark from the day of issue.  |

I'm surprised these US forever and Canadian Permanent stamps don't have expiry dates. Our "P" stamps have been around for some time and they still are accepted as postage today, even though their price was ½ what is charged today!

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

My first calendar post
SAN FRANCISCO APR 29 1926 slogan cancel LET'S GO! CITIZENS MILITARY TRAINING CAMPS
I was drawn to this envelope, in addition to the slogan cancel, from the warm and nostalgic feel I got
from the return address illustration of the SAN FRANCISCO STAMP SOCIETY logo.
As I sometimes do, I did an online search of the address of the sender
at 270 32nd Avenue and found it in a Trulia real estate page.
This is a 3 bed, 2 bath, 3 story, 2467 sq foot home, estimated value today - $2.9 million.

2 May 1897 France Yvert 75 with a Paris to Montargis convoyeur cancellation.  2 May 2006 GB SG Y1671 with a postmark from Albion Square,Chepstow. Not the best postmark but of interest to me because of the Albion name.............  |
