27 February 1950 1950 (Feb 27) airmail cover to Malcolm Logan, in Hong Kong, from Shanghai. Redirected first to The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in London; then to Logan's home in Cwmbach, Wales; then finally to Fermoy, County Cork, Ireland.
The cover was franked with a first issue $800 orange value from the first definitive set of stamps issued by the People's Republic of China on February 10, 1950, depicting the Gate of Heavenly Peace (Tiananmen), and postmarked in Shanghai (date unreadable). The stamp pays the PRC to Hong Kong rate, which was the same as the domestic rate ($800 per 20gm) for a very short period from February 1 to March 11, 1950.
In Hong Kong, the PRC stamp was obscured by the application of two horizontal pairs of the 1948 KGVI 20c rose red, paying the 80c airmail rate to England for letters up to ½oz (June 11, 1947 to May 31, 1952); cancelled February 27, 1950.
This cover has been in the family since Malcolm received it in March 1950. Malcolm is my 1st cousin, three times removed.

27 February 1925 The AIR MAIL SAVES TIME / LUGPOS BESPAAT TYD slogan cancel was introduced at Durban and cape Town on February 18, 1925. Two types were used at Cape Town. This is one, cancelled on February 27, 1925. The slogan was mainly applied to non-air correspondence, to advertise the service, which commenced on March 2, 1925.

Am I wrong to imagine that Sir Rowland tossed back a few draughts before he posed for this one? Of course, the whole sheet that he's on looks a few sheets to the wind, so to speak. But if ever a portrait spoke "blotto!" to me...

28 February 1922 Rear arrival roller cancel for Sydney, February 28, 1922, on this cover sent to John Henry Parry, from a member of Parry's extended family, J.M. Sheperdson, Star Route 4123, Worcester, Massachusetts. The family link was through Parry's sister, Margaret O'Hara Parry (1856-1929), who had married William Thomas Sheperdson (1856-1927) and had settled in Worcester.
Parry's brother-in-law, William Sheperdson, was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1856. His great uncle was the first English blacksmith to go to Russia, c.1836; retained by Nicholas I as a teacher in the Imperial Military Cavalry Schools, to teach scientific horseshoeing.
In 1856, William's father established his own shop in St. Petersburg, with William working in that business until social, cultural and political changes made it unsafe and unprofitable to remain after WWI. He looks to have left Russia to settle in Worcester, Mass., before the revolution.

28 February 1963 This meter label from Seattle PO, Washington, was printed February 28, 1963, to show payment of 6 cents due on an underpaid cover from Australia. I've featured this cover previously on this thread for the January 26 Adelaide postmark. It is quoted below. 26 January 1963 This 1963 cover to Seattle, USA, was canceled in Adelaide, South Australia, on 26 January 1963 (Australia Day) with the Australia Day slogan cancel. The 5d Kangaroo Paw stamp was issued in 1962 (Nov 1) as part of the "VII British Empire & Commonwealth Games" issue. This cover was short paid 3d and taxed at double deficiency, which was converted at 1d = 3cts (UPU gold centimes), for a total of 18 cts. In the US, this was converted at 3cts = 1c (US cent) for a total of 6c, paid 28 February by the addressee at Seattle PO; Pitney Bowes 6c meter cancel label applied.

Brâila, Romania, way back in 1872. Not to brag, but pretty cool, huh? Brâila is on the Danube, not far from the southern tip of today's Republic of Moldova. (I didn't realize until today that a small patch of Ukraine separates Moldova from the Black Sea and touches Romania right near Brâila.) Despite being a ways upriver, it was for centuries one of the busiest ports of the Black Sea trade. Its significance has decreased in recent decades, but it's still the 11th largest city in Romania. If you plan to be in the neighborhood, check out this tourist page and find some things to see and hear. That postmark was a mere 49 years old when another letter was launched on its journey, this one from Bonn. At the time that stamp sailed to its destiny, Bonn was famous for being the birthplace of Beethoven and not much else. It became the capital of the Federal Republic precisely because it didn't really have an identity among the general public and the people in charge of these things assumed that it could be accepted as a temporary, or makeshift, capital. In practice some 65 years later, quite a bit of the German government remains ensconced in Bonn, as do more than 300,000 residents.

3 March 1959 The Wentworth Centenary Celebrations slogan was used in Mildura in the 1st and 3rd weeks of January, February, and March, and 6-26 April, 1959. Here is an example, cancelled March 3, 1959. Despite being a PAID cancel, this is not in the traditional red.

3 March 1956 / 1961 Ballarat could have done what other towns had done... picked a generic slogan and used it year in, year out... "Ballarat Begonia Festival It's Blooming Great!" (for example)... but instead, they insisted on using dates, and they rarely ever coincided (especially if the year was included, as it was in the first several years), necessitating a new slogan engraved each time.

4 March 1934 Back on the Royal Train... In 1934, March 4 was a Sunday, and the Royal tour had arrived in Pietermaritzburg the previous morning. When the Royal party transferred to hotels, such as on these longer stopovers, the Royal Post Office transferred to a hotel bedroom. This philatelic cover bears a Natal 1/- Orange with POSTAGE overprint (1888). This philatelic cover has a block of four South Africa 2d Government Buildings of Pretoria stamps. Both this and the previous cover have Pretoria (March 6) receiving backstamps

5 March 1963 The ‘Visit Armidale Festival’ slogans were used from 1960 to 1963 inclusive. Each year a new die was engraved to reflect the changing dates. This March 5, 1963 impression sat in the middle of its usage period for that year: February 14 to March 21. 1963 was a significant year for the arts in Armidale, the city's art collection was commenced early in 1963 with the donation of the winning painting from the Armidale Festival art competition. It was also the year that the Armidale Drama & Musical Society (ADMS) was reformed after having been disbanded on the outbreak of the second world war.
