Finally, I am able to join the elite 'post mark calendar group' - so, here is my contribution ..... This is the olive-green SG 402 from 1946-47 printing with the title 'Great Bear Lake', and with a 'TROIS-RIVIERES (southern Quebec) post mark. Historically a very French influenced location - rather obvious really since it was established in the C17 by a Frenchman - apparently the translation to English - Three Rivers - refers to the confluence of the three channels at the mouth of the Saint Maurice and the St. Lawrence

Thanks for the showing mberry , not only for the Tiffany Lamp stamp, but the machine spray-on cancel is not common with its use of a 'T' as part of the time/place markings. From my notes, 'L' stands for "lead" and 'T' for "trail" depending on how the piece of mail is fed into the AFCS-100 canceller. If the letter is fed with the stamp end first, it'll be L. If fed with the stamp at the "trail" end, it'll be T. Looking through one's post, the 'Ls' will far outnumber the Ts... Have fun and happy collecting.

I got nothing from June 4, nothing except a couple of comments. Do you happen to know why this information appears in postmarks? I'm having a hard time visualizing why it might be useful to the USPS. A postcard mailed from Israel with Scotts 721 and 725 postmarked on June 3, 1979 in Ramat Gan. That one's really cool. I have postmarks from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, but for any of the smaller or lesser-known places in Israel, nothing but goose eggs. And even the few I have from the major cities are not very good impressions. Nice postcard, too.

This charming postcard was sent from Los Angeles on 6 June 1910. us-los.angeles-1910.06.06 by Mick Taylor, on Flickr LOS ANGELES, CAL. / JUN 6 / 6 PM / STA.D 1910 stamped separately? Postcard text: Dear Friend Allie:- How are you. I think of you often. I sent you some postals last summer, but I guess you did not get them. How is your mother? Give her my love. I would like to see you all. Wish you were here to help me enjoy the (summer?) & fruit of Cal. Write and tell me all the news. (?) - Vala H.Perhaps some of the fruit that Vala was enjoying was that thrown by the Elks on that day! Elks_throwing_fruit by Mick Taylor, on Flickr Los Angeles Herald, 6 June 1910, p10

mberry - am intrigued by 'two and a half baths' - at first glance thought the stamp image showed a section through a kiwi;-) But, for the money this might demand would there be a stamp room?

paul1, the half baths down here are usually just 'potty' rooms downstairs near the door or the stairs and horribly even off of the kitchens. There are no pics of this house available on line but the descriptions I read did not include that it had and office, game room, play room etc. so probably not a stamp room. The square footage though for the number of bedrooms would likely have enough space somewhere for stamps. It does have a detached garage and a barn, could always buildout the garage attic and add air conditioning.
