vasia and Ryan, Sorry I'm late to the party. I wasn't following this thread. The German postmark in question is indeed a Bestellstempel. The literal translation is "postal carrier's stamp". They were used as arrival and delivery postmarks, depending on the location and frequency of deliveries. As Ryan said, there were many delivery shifts per day, and the time noted on the Bestellstempel notes the shift on which it was delivered.

It's just a thing we do for fun rogo. If a cover has the same date (sans year of course) then we scan it and pop it up in this thread on the appropriate day. No need feel any pressure it's only for fun friend!

I truly wish I had the that kind of dedication to get that detailed in my inventory control.........

March 24, 1923
Large cover from Loutschinetz / ЛУЧИНЕЦЪ, Podolia to Berlin (Brender correspondence), 7/4. Franked correctly at (1923) 10R with block of 25x40R/15k imperf (litho surcharge on re-engraved, “wide oval” stamp, Zagorskiy 84I). 1R of 1923 = 100R of 1922.
The non-standard (provisional) registration label is imperf, on cream paper, with a handwritten registration #. It resembles the labels used on package postal forms, in both form and in the fact that it bears the placename in both Cyrillic and Latin.

March 28This stamped envelope (Scott U10, 1854) was sent from Worthington, Massachusetts on this date in an unknown year. This cover commemorated the launching of the USS Black (DD 666) on this date in 1943. The 1.5c bister brown, perf. 11x10.5 Martha Washington stamp (Scott 805) was issued May 5, 1938. The Cinderella on the cover was issued by the Council Against Intolerance in America, a New York group, founded by James Waterman Wise, that was active from the late-1930s through the mid-1940s.
