I received the first submission for the Oct - Dec 2021 issue of the Newsletter today (thank you ronbreznay !). Beryllium Guy has already informed me that he will be making a submission. If you are planning to write something for the upcoming Newsletter, please post here or send me a PM letting me know and providing an estimated date of submission. If you are not planning on writing something, please reconsider that decision. Also, if you are not planning on writing something, there is no need for you to make a post on this thread.

Admittedly, I was to blame for the very late distribution of the October - December issue of the Newsletter (V6.1). I would like to try to get back on track (i.e., distributing the Newsletter the week prior to the period covered), but that won't be possible for V6.2. I am appealing to all to consider submitting material for the next issue. Submitting an article is easy—all we need is the file containing the article’s text, annotated with suggested image locations, and the images sent as separate files. If you’d like to have an article published in the next issue of the Newsletter (V6.2), please attach the files to an email and send it to stampforum.net@gmail.com by not later than January 30, 2022. To remind, the article selected as the Forum's annual Article of Distinction will get published on the APS website (see below) and each issue of our Newsletter is added to the digital holdings of the American Philatelic Research Library.

The deadline for submission of material for the Apr-Jun 2022 issue of the Newsletter has shifted from March 4 to March 13. Material received after March 13 will appear in the Jul-Sep 2022 issue.

If you’d like to have an article published in the next issue of the Newsletter (V6.4), please attach the text and image files to an email and send it to stampforum.net@gmail.com by not later than June 4, 2022. Material received after June 4th will be held for the October - December 2022 issue (V7.1). If files are too large for submission by email, use the free and secure file transfer service at WeTransfer.com (the service allows you to send up to 2GB without charge).

I haven't posted on this thread lately as we've been receiving enough material to produce a respectable Newsletter each quarter. It hasn't been as much as we'd like, or from a greater number of members, but we've made do. Today I'm writing to both remind of the submission deadline for our October-December issue and to announce the appointment of Chris Dorn ( Beryllium Guy ) as the Newsletter's Editor. Chris did an exceptional job in producing the current issue (V7.4) and he has graciously accepted my appeal to assume the role as Editor of The Stamp Forum Newsletter. Article preparation guidance is provided in the first post in this thread and the submission deadline and process published in the last newsletter follow: Chris will be updating his preferences for format and submission in the near future. Please help him out by writing for the Forum's Newsletter!

Many thanks for your post, Steve ( tomiseksj), and for your kind words. You have had the Newsletter Editor job heaped upon you in addition to all of the Admin duties over these past few years, when our previous Editor left rather unceremoniously. Since you made me part of the Moderator Team, I thought it was high time I started to help you out more. So, here I am! Just a note to any members thinking about submitting something for the Newsletter, please PM me first, and I will provide my email address to which you can send the materials. Thanks again to Steve for doing the TSF Newsletter Editor job over the past few years. It has been great that you have been able to keep it going, and I promise you and all of the members that I will do my best to continue this tradition.

Hello again, everyone: In my new capacity as Editor of the TSF Newsletter, I am pleased to announce that Jerry ( Jerry B) has agreed to stay on staff in his same role as Assistant Editor, and that Rob ( REL1948) has agreed to become part of the staff as a new Assistant Editor. Rob brings with him the benefit of many years of professional editorial experience, and I feel truly lucky to have him on the staff. Steve ( tomiseksj) will also continue to be an important contributor to the newsletter. Please join me in thanking Steve, Jerry, and Rob for being part of the new TSF Newsletter Team! We will work together to give all of you a memorable newsletter for the first issue of Volume 8!

TSF Newsletter, v8.3 Submission Deadline: Monday, 4th March Looking for Article on a Stamp-Related EventHello, everyone: Just giving this quiet thread a bump to deliver a gentle reminder that submissions for the upcoming issue of your TSF Newsletter are due two weeks from tomorrow. I can be somewhat flexible on that, so if you are planning to submit something, but you need a little more time, please contact me by PM to discuss. In the past two issues, we had nice write-ups from a member who attended a philatelic event. I did one on the Great American Stamp Show in v8.1, and cjoprey did one on the StampEx in London for v8.2. I feel sure that at least one member has attended a club meeting or show since then. If that's you, how about writing up a few short paragraphs about your experience and supply a couple of images? Also, please remember that we now have an Upcoming Events section, so if you are planning to go to an event that will happen in April or after that you would like to let everyone know about, please send me that info, and I will be sure to include it in the next issue. On top of all that, submissions in any other areas are also welcome! I am trying to keep certain features going from one issue to the next, but that's not an absolute requirement, so if you have something else you would like to write about, please get in touch! I look forward to hearing from you! Also, with the loss of our Assistant Editor Jerry B, we now have an open position on the staff. If you would like to be a reviewer for the Newsletter during the production process, please contact me by PM. Stay Newsletter stampy, all!

TSF Newsletter, v8.3 Submissions Requested for Next Week Still Looking for Article on a Stamp-Related EventGreetings, all! This is just a gentle reminder that if you are planning to submit an article for the pending issue of the TSF Newsletter, I would like to receive those this coming week, if at all possible. If you need a bit more time but can still get something completed this month, please contact me by PM to make arrangements. To date, I have three articles in hand, so a big thank-you to those who have already submitted in advance of the requested date. Due to other commitments of my own, I haven't started the editorial process yet, but I will soon, either this weekend or this coming week. I do find it exciting to lay out the articles and see a new issue come together! Then I get to share it with all of you, which is the best part. I have been very proud of these recent issues, and I hope that everyone has been enjoying them. I am still looking for an article on a stamp-related event for this next issue. So, if anyone can give me a couple of paragraphs on a show or club meeting that they attended, it would be nice to keep the Events feature going for another issue. Please get in touch by PM if you can help. Thanks for your support. Stay Newsletter stampy, all!

TSF Newsletter, v8.4 Still Looking for SubmissionsGreetings, everyone: This post is just a gentle reminder that the official deadline for the TSF Newsletter, V8.4 is approaching, just a couple of weeks from now (Monday, 3rd June). I have a couple of articles in hand, but still looking for others. If you are planning to submit an article, please either make a post in this thread, or contact me by PM to discuss. Since I have some articles already well in advance of the requested date, that gives me good flexibility with the deadline. So, if 3rd June is a bit too soon for you, please let me know, and let's work out another date later in the month. The idea is to have the issue finalized by the end of June, so there is still plenty of time to work with. If this would help you to make a submission, please let me know. Stay Newsletter stampy, all!
Edit: I also forgot to mention that I am still looking for one more Assistant Editor. This is not an onerous job; it only takes 2-3 hours once every three months to review the Newsletter in draft form and point out typos or mistakes or suggest any changes before finalizing for publication. Anyone interested?

TSF Newsletter, v9.1 Extended Submission Deadline
Greetings, everyone! This is just a gentle reminder that if you are planning to submit an article for the next issue of the Newsletter, I would like to have your materials by Fri-13-Sep.
I currently have three articles in hand, but I would welcome a couple more to round out the issue. They don’t need to be lengthy, either.
So, if you are planning to submit something, please contact me by PM to let me know the specifics.
Stay Newsletter stampy, all!
