I managed to lay my hands on an old Approval book album of hinged Indian stamps. Nothing out of the ordinary, a few pages of pre-independence pages and many pages of post-independence stamps. I am torn between leaving it as is, or picking out stamps I need to include in my more organized collection in stock book album. Not completely sure what I should do. Any suggestions?

The first 3 pages may only have stamps worth a few dollars at best. BUT early India regular & service stamps have a lot of worthwhile stamps depending on watermarks & color. I would be inclined to check them carefully.

Most are relatively low value, but you are right, there might be gems for watermark variations.

A few good looking postmarks, too. If it was mine, I'd part it out.
