I have collected off and on since childhood, which was during the Eisenhower Administration. Although I collect worldwide my favorites are anything pre-1940; France, Germany and Great Britain from any era; U.S. pre-21st century. About 30 years ago I purchased a set of Minkus Supreme Globals, where perhaps half my collection is now, but shortly thereafter I more or less lost interest. However, I did maintain my APS membership and occasionally would purchase an item (mostly covers) that caught my interest. At present I have just assembled a set of Scott Internationals through Part 4 and am contemplating a remount (or in some cases, first mount) from the MSG.
My other quirk is to collect postal history from places I lived.

Hi geneaker and welcome to the forum. Collecting postal history from places that are meaningful sounds very appealing to me. Member jamesw has done some very interesting stuff with this - even picking up a cover that was sent by his uncle! ( link). Looking forward to seeing your stuff. Mick

Welcome to the Forum. I'd be interested to learn why you are considering switching from the Minkus Supreme Globals. There have been several threads on other boards which show there is still some enthusiasm for the Minkus albums.

Welcome to the Forum. I'd be interested to learn why you are considering switching from the Minkus Supreme Globals. There have been several threads on other boards which show there is still some enthusiasm for the Minkus albums. I've seen the comments regarding the MSG here and elsewhere. I just like the look of the Big Blue, although it has some shortcomings. There is nothing "wrong" with the Minkus, per se. I was frustrated though, by the fact that when I purchased it, around 1980, the volume covering 1966-70 was out of stock at the dealer, and unbeknownst to either the dealer or myself, out of print. Ironically, I was able to buy supplements for several more years. I see now that I could fill the gap as Amos has revived the Minkus line, at least on a print-on-demand basis.
