Since the beginning of FRANCE inventory and doing custom pages for the Classic period .......I just checked the inventory which shows over 600 stamps and I have more to do...... before I am able to change Country. The majority were inventoried using Scott Classic 2019 e-version and Maury 2017 catalogs....very different systems, the French catalog being more complete. Showed some pages in another thread. René

I thought I'd be too busy for anything stamps today. Imagine that??!?!
But yesterday I received a can of Pure Citrus in the mail. Sheesh it cost 3x's more to send it from Kentucky than it was worth. It was also ripped open by CBSA. Fortunately, they allowed it to carry on. So I figured I'd give it a go. Wow, not only does it work great, it smells great too! I'm going to have to petition Canadian Tire too stock this wonder spray! So easy to lift ornery stamps from their envelopes. And I can spray on top when the stamps are on cardboard. So I citrussed a bunch of stamps this morning.
Then, while looking for something, I came across a Luxembourg 1988 pack. I've had that for months. So I finally mounted those in the album. The semi-postals, which I keep in another album, need to have their pages altered to suit my taste. So I need to print out pages for 1984-2000.This will take a while. So I started on that., with the 1981-1983 being altered & re-printed & the 1984-1986 done now. Two short walks thrown in and 8,800 steps, I should be OK for that ½ marathon coming up.
The mail check this morning revealed an auction lot of a German semi-postal of Hitler orating at a podium. That's next to go in the album.
For a day I thought would be stampy, that's almost all I've done!

I just bought what was advertised as "One Pound, 8-12 Thousand Worldwide" stamps. I started sorting last night but didn't get very far before going to bed. I thought I would fill in some gaps in my collection. Actually, I just enjoy sorting stamps. I'll probably end up selling a lot of these on Facebook real cheap.

My HP Envy Photo 6200 series all-in-one printer arrived yesterday so I spent the morning playing with the scanner.
There don't appear to be as many adjustment options as I had with the Canon, at least that I've been able to find so far, but the scan quality seems about the same.
I signed up for the HP Instant Ink program and am looking forward to seeing how much of a savings I'll realize, if any, on replacement ink.
Speaking of ink, if anyone uses the PGI-250XL and CLI-251XL ink cartridges, send me a PM.

Just got back home after a work trip to Dublin to unpack a bunch of eBay deliveries: full stock book and assorted envelopes of Belgian stamps, and 4 envelopes full of British commonwealth stamps. Now dithering between resting after trip and sorting these!

My first SOR auction lots arrived in the mail this week. Just three sets, and a bunch from Vista stamps that I thought I had deleted & not ordered. Oh well, last order for them. I just hope the replacement stamps for wrong or just plain bad stamps are OK in this order. Whaddaya bet there's more errors in this one? I'm about to find out!
EDIT: After I opened the package, the 1st Where's the stamp was not what it was supposed to be & the 3rd as well. I'm not happy in the least. I won't be ordering from them again!

So, that was it for the errors in the last Canada stamp order I received yesterday, from what I could tell. Unless you buy plate blocks of the Artifacts definitives (and others), it is impossible to differentiate the various papers used in the series. So I am just hoping these singles are what they are supposed to be. They filled a bunch of holes in my album.
I also started soaking all these Canadian stamps I have received in the mail over the past couple of years. So I added #977, the Commonwealth Day $2 stamp to my album. I'm not paying $12.50+ for a MNH copy. I just took what I had on piece, soaked it & saved $5. I have a bunch of used high value stamps, maybe I'll have a give-away for some of them. I have more to soak, and am running out of stockbook space again. I should make up album pages for what's taking up the room.
Now that that is done for the day, it is back to the Luxembourg semi-postal album pages!

Another day of sorting my old collection to try and catalog what I already have - mostly Canada today. Still got about 4 stock books full of stamps (2 of them for Belgium) to sort through...

and I sorted my Iceland and Faroes. These duplicates are now sitting comfortably in a stockbook. I'm thinking of putting them up for auction at SOR. Just modern stuff from 1976-1999. No old stuff here! I need to figure out PayPal so I can be paid through it...

Opening meeting of Aberdeen Philatelic Society new season last night meant I was unable to make my usual London trip to Stampex. ( sorry tobben63 that we couldn’t meet). Some 28 members present to chat and trade so I had a successful evening getting rid of accumulated material that did not fit with my current collecting interests. Even after a chat session in the pub with a couple of mates, and paying my annual subscription of £15, I came home £22 better off in my wallet than I had left home with

Simple... post a quick note and tell us what you did today with your stamp collection. There's no right or wrong in it just collectors sharing their passion!
My stampy activity on yesterday was virtually nill. I did get a few things arrive in the mail yesterday - most notably a lot of 56 coil line pairs from the US Transportation Series of definitives and a wonton lot souvenir sheet singles via trade to fill a few spaces. My activity with stamps was put on hold yesterday to watch the Presidential election results but now that the election cycle has ended it's back to sorting... I'll fill y'all in on the sorting (it's a looooong story) over the next few days. So... what did YOU do with YOUR collection today? I received some colourful envelopes in the post this week that included several US transportation coil strips and began to sort through the latest acquisitions along with continuing to create the album pages to showcase these little gems! The Transportation Coil Strips: Plate numbers, Tagging varieties, Cottrell or B/C/D Press, Dull Gum, Shiny Gum, etc. What a joy! :-)

Today's sorting task was Denmark and trying to decide which ones were violet, which dark violet and which grey violet... Don't you just love variations when you don't have a colour chart! And while I was able to I ordered a Stanley Gibbons watermark detector, a shortwave UV light to go with my longwave UV torch, another stockbook and a new pair of tweezers... All of which I want to arrive now of course!

The short/longwave UV light I bought as a kid way back in 1970 or so is still with me and works just as well as it did then! I received two letters in the mail today, one from coastwatcher, which included 3 souvenir sheets & a FDC postal card. Thanks, Jack! The other one is a lot from a(n) SOR auction of Azores classics & a couple of Icelandic birds.

Received 2 FRANCE stamps ordered on Eb from an Australian seller to complete a series - Sc 291 and 293 - order was put in many weeks ago but my custom page was ready for mounting these 2. Since, I am still doing inventory of FRANCE but I am near the end (finally) - 1270 stamps as of now and a bunch of "dups" for one of my member friend, Chris Beryllium Guy ! if need be Stamps came from multiple sources, including another friend, Jon blaamand and from my late dad who had albums-books-glassines etc of this great Country, bought in the 60s. I'm about 90% finished sorting the first pound of stamps I recently purchased. I received another one yesterday (that's a total of between 1,600-2,000 stamps). I'm still trying to decide what to do with the CTO that was in the mixture.

Not much time for anything of late...except being outbid on those Cinderellas !! But today I had to pack up all the stamps, albums and everything that goes with it while the builders come in to make some repairs to the walls. So not much stamping for the next two weeks. Just my trusty old laptop to keep up to date with you lot and other places. Then back to normal I hope in time for the 5-day New Year holiday !! (and lots of time for stamps !!)

Today was mostly spent going through a bunch of old Swiss and German Federal Republic swaps and finding colour and perf variations. Then started to sort the last set of British Commonwealth stamps I bought. Some nice Victoria, George V and George VI stamps found in there so far...
