Hi everyone,My name is John and I have been collecting stamps for about 65 years.Started in cub scouts to receive my merit badge for a hobby. I have a Scott 1840-1940 BB hard bound album copyright 1947.Currently contains around 28,000 stamps.I enjoy French Colonies & the many forgeries of the navigation & commerce issues.

Hi, John:
Welcome to TSF! I just joined a couple of weeks ago myself, and have really been enjoying my time on the forum. I have already learned a lot from many of the other members.
I have some things in common with you: I was also in the Boy Scouts, and Stamp Collecting was my first merit badge. I also collect worldwide classic issues (1840-1930) and I use Scott albums, too.
If you are interested in exploring more about forgeries, take a look at the threads by Falschung, one of the main contributors to TSF. He has posted a lot of great resource materials on identification of forgeries.
Anyway, welcome aboard, and enjoy!

Welcome John. There are a number of worldwide collectors on here. As you know, with 28,000 stamps you have only 7,000 to go to complete the International Volume One. France and the colonies would be high up on my list if I were to do any specialty collections.

Welcome, John. BB seems to be a very popular item on TSF. I started with BB vol. 1 (loose leaf) and have expanded it into 7 volumes. I do not know how many stamps I have in my WW collection, but probably around 30,000 counting varieties, shades, etc. I surrendered long ago any aspirations of filling all the spaces.
