Hi. I'm Carlberky, and I started collecting stamps in 1948. Started with World-Wide and then specialized in unused and mint US.
After all these years you would think that I might claim some expertize ... but any skills that I have were acquired fairly recently, as I became a member of various forums. Hope to give something back ... if not knowledge, perhaps some encouragement and humor!

Welcome to our Forum!
If expertise were required for membership then I, for one, wouldn't be here.
Knowledge, humor and/or encouragement are more than enough to qualify for a spot in our ranks.
As firstfrog2013 has said, feel free to jump in wherever you'd like.

When I turned 80 a few years ago, I decided to dispose of my collection, and save my novice heir the grief. Since then, with time and patience, I've made several bulk sales ... 1. All of the Airmails, unused and complete.(c1-c126 on 6-2-15) 2. All of the unused and mint stamps complete from 1920 through 1999.(7-2-15) 3. All of the pre-1920 stamps having a dealer catalog list price of under $200. (1-15-17) The rest, with a dealer catalog list price of over $200 each, were listed at my EBay store. Managed to sell slightly over 100 stamps, with the remainder ... about 40 stamps ... still offered at EBay. You can see them there, but frankly the best ones have been cherry-picked.

Welcome, Carlberky! I am relatively new to TSF myself, but it is a great place to get questions answered and learn from others. I hope you will choose to display some of the early US you still have left.
Anyway, welcome and enjoy!

Those are some pretty nice looking scans, Carlberky! Care to add any comments to tell us about the stamps? Enquiring minds want to know!

The stamps? #63 and #68 ... the oldest stamps left in the store. Otherwise, nothing special there ... except for maybe those re-perfs on #68!

I believe that I've found a worthy stamp spinoff to occupy the interests of this old guy getting tired of just watching computer-generated movies. While looking for fakes to expose, in US coil stamps offered on EBay, I came across some really miss-aligned paste-up pairs. (For those requiring a detailed explaination, google 'Stamp Paste-Up Pair'and read Wikipedia's blurb.) Thought that collecting miss-aligned paste-up pairs for all flat-plate coils would make for an interesting, satisfying and relatively inexpensive hobby. A couple of advantages I can think of right away is that paste-up pairs are seldom faked (a big problem with coils), and also the final value wouldn't be enough to worry about heir disposal. Think I'll get started with a spread-sheet right away. Here are a couple of examples: #348 #349
