Hi-- just found TSF today. I've been a regular poster for about 7 years on SCF, mostly in the US Classics area.
Long-time collector-- I'll be 60 next month!
I specialize with 2 US issues: 1861 3c stamp, (I'm trying to identify all 55 of the shades of this issue), and the 1851-57 1c stamp (I plate the perforated issues (1857's, and am trying to complete the top row of all of the Type V/Va plates).
I've just recently, thanks to Jim Jackson's blog "Big Blue" become reacquainted with my first love from when I was a kid, World Classics. So, I've purchased an empty old 1947 Scott International Volume 1, and have purchased 4 other collections of this album on eBay, and am just about finished with putting the first 2 of them into my blank pages for my start of a World Classics collection. (Just found out that Upper Volta is now Burkina Faso....I had no idea!)
So, thanks to the admins for your time and efforts, and see you on the board! Ray

Welcome to the forum, Ray. As a relatively new collector, I'm always glad when an experienced collector joins - I have another member from which I can learn. (Of course I am equally pleased when another novice collector joins, as many of their curiosities are also mine.) In any event, lovely to have you here.

Welcome to TSF, Ray! I am relatively new here myself, having just joined this past November. I am really enjoying my time here, finding lots of great resources, sharing info, and making stamp-collecting friends!
Interestingly, my own philatelic path has some parallels to yours. I was collecting U.S. classics only and then through a stamp club meeting ended up with an empty 1928 edition of the Scott International Jr. album, and started collecting worldwide classics, too. Now I spend more time on the WW side of things than with my old U.S. collection.
Anyway, welcome to TSF and enjoy! I look forward to seeing posts of some of your favorite material!

Welcome to the forum, Ray. Lots of good stuff for specialized collections, and a lot of folk who are just good 'ol stamp collectors trying to fill our Big Blue. You'll fit right in.

Ah, I'm glad another collector got hooked on the lure of WW collecting (Big Blue). And Ray, I know you from other forums and BB commentaries, so welcome to The Stamp Forum. There is a lot for WW collectors to find here - especially interesting discussions on forgeries.

Welcome Ray, I have recently joined TSF myself and have enjoyed posting and contributing. I collect US U58 and U59 covers as well as early US Machine Cancel Covers. In addition I have an extensive amount of worldwide (mainly older stuff) that I've accumulated over they years, some with value some of the inexpensive variety. When I get to my 50 posts, I will be putting some up for sale and others up for free drawings.
