With your support, I'd like to see this thread become a compilation of worldwide postal etiquettes, either on or off cover. Let me begin by posting a strip of five of the U.S. Postal Service's Label 19-B, January 2002. Per the USPS International Mail Manual (July 28, 2013):

Here is the link. Yours didn't work because you inserted the URL into the word "link" between the l and the i.

A new topic for me. Are registration stickers etiquettes? Great question! Based on my interpretation of the definition I posted earlier, I would say that registry exchange labels are etiquettes in that they were used to clearly distinguish a type of service. I know that we have a few "etiquette experts" in our membership so I'll defer to them for the definitive answer.

Thanks for starting this new Topic. This will be a big one. I would personally recommend that "Registration labels" be a separate topic. Registration is a vast study on it's own, and possibly would have more labels / etiquettes than meets the eye. Nice to see the definition of etiquettes posted top of topic, great work Steve. Treading lightly, my contribution begins with eggs: West Australian Airways etiquette (Not my cover)

Perforated air mail etiquette used in the U.S. in the mid-1940s. Two examples on covers sent in 1944 & 1945:

You can adjust the size of that image I posted and print them out for use/decoration. I scanned it from an actual one I have running around here someplace.
Tomiseksj those are awesome covers! Thank you.

These are two of my favorites, but I'm afraid these etiquettes are not mine. They're borrowed from airmaillabels.blogspot.com/. I like them so much that I printed them out and used them in some mail art. This was a collaborative postcard with four other artists. I was the lucky one who got to stick a couple of stamps on it and mail it home to the first artist. This is a collage postcard that I made mostly with magazine clippings.

I just now found another one! Unusual in that one doesn't need an air mail etiquette on an air mail envelope !!

I'm interested in those "per book post" labels. I can't really find anything on them on line. That's certainly not saying that info don't exist but I couldn't find any on a fast search using all those key words? Are the Australian -do you know the country of origin by any chance?
Never mind...lol

Jeff GB had a prescribed "book post" rate, and I have covers of India (to Australia) with auxilliary markings "Per Book Post" So there's 2. Possibly produced by a stationery merchant in GB, is my guess. The fascinating thing is, they are also embossed.

I've found a source for one of Rod's labels - according to this excellent airmail label site, it's from the Sudan. myairmaillabels.blogspot.ca/2010/12/sudan-airmail-labels.htmlThere is an endless amount of stuff on that site - I only found it by going through the country listings for those that I thought would have Arabic text on them. On a quick browse, I also found this fine label from Lundy. Note the embossed puffins! Ryan

Sometimes that yeilds some pretty interesting results. Just a thought.

I tried that - it was determined to be an Olympic flag or something like that. I got all kinds of predominantly blue Olympic images! ha ha Ryan

This air mail etiquette from Eastern Air Lines was used in 1947. A brief history of the air line, from Encyclopedia Britannica follows.
